Orixy 2nd Gear April 9, 2007 Share April 9, 2007 Gotta question here which I didnt find much answer from Google: What is the difference between a sprung vs springless clutch disc in terms of durability, bite, and harshness? Imuya Clutched April 11, 2007 Share April 11, 2007 The springs are to absorb the shock of the clutch engagement, right? Unsprung clutches, wouldn't it be very hardcore to drive? What's the feeling like?
Elfenstar 3rd Gear April 11, 2007 Share April 11, 2007 Yup, they're there to dampen the shock... Whats it like... jerky is the best description i guess Honestly they arent too bad in terms of drivability, unless you driving off from a standstill on start stop traffic. Koren Clutched April 12, 2007 Share April 12, 2007 (edited) lucky mine is sprung puck.. Edited April 12, 2007 by Koren
Elfenstar 3rd Gear April 12, 2007 Share April 12, 2007 3 puck. IMHO still very harsh for a daily. Since your's is street driven i would say a 5 puck cushioned button clutch would be the best.
Boyboy 1st Gear April 13, 2007 Share April 13, 2007 how much does it cost? for a relatively stock 1.1, would u say that clutch upgrade is totally useless? i guess for ur ride it's a diff story
Orixy 2nd Gear April 16, 2007 Author Share April 16, 2007 Found out the info from mech friends: Sprung -> can have slightly more control of clutch engagement - less vibrations when clutch is engaged. Springless -> No control, clutch is either engaged or disengaged - more vibrations due to this "on/off" aspect. ↡ Advertisement
