Rim offset

Neutral Newbie

hi guys,

My fren drives a Jazz and he went to Stamford sales last weekend,

found one 14" rim that suit his taste but the rim offset only 40,

according to KM workshop advice, he can only use offset of 60 or above

for 14" rim and 45 or above for 15".

So does it mean that a 14" rim + 40 will not fit his car?

There are two kinds of off set. One is postive and the other negative. Pos. means the tyres will go deeper into the mudguards. Neg. means tyres protruding outwards.

Is KM refering to the tyre aspect ratio ???

"14" use 60, 15" use 45 "....... hmmm looks more like they are refering to aspect ratio than the offset of the rim.

BTW, I have not seen any rim with offset more than 42 smile.gif
