In an altis/avante/1.6L/compact car/C-segment type of car these days it seems not too difficult to hit such speeds without straining the engine. I m not talking abt test top speed, but genuinely going up and down for work and business frequently. not so frequent, maybe like once in a month or two and avg speed i do about 130-140 for safety. I only do 200+ normally for a few min only to have some excitement normally 2L above 160 no strain but 1.6 or 1.8L might be a strain. Best basic car i think diff people has diff views, my view volvo car or bmw entry model are good enough in maintaining high speed in nshw. Must full throttle If gradually gain It's really impossible or really dinosaur yrs Easiest is from start full throttle all the way till max speed That's y sb hard in sg with so many multi hundred thousand dola cars Haha Latio can hit above 140 easily with heavy right leg.. but will need a longer drag to hit 160 anything above is really tough without luck and slight down slope or minimal headwiind.... weird is when car was new, I can never hit above 170 no matter how I drag but I can achieve it after the car is 3yrs older.... and yes, need to full throttle to gain speed and if slow down by hogger, have to down gear and rev again even at 120... No joke Latio can reach 180km but dun think can go further then that. i own this car 6-7 years ago try it many time in NSHW the most i can reach is 180km or 185km down slope.
