Merging lane, who has theright of way?

If 2 cars go into a merging lane at the same speed, who will have the right of way??

Usually the one on the right on paper. But in SG, whoever's more daring or whoever's ride is older!

in any circumstances where there is not indication on the road or signs, vehicle on the right has the right of way.

It depends. If on the right has full cars and are moving faster, this one quite obvious.

 

If only two cars moving about the same speed will be the one who is ahead dun care right or left. So must chiong to get ahead of the other car.

you can't fight these "who is right or who is wrong" battles on merging lane. qns is, can you afford the time and $ to play with the person if you do bump each other?

 

Best is to practice patience and if the person wants to go.. then go loh... go behind you also won't die.

that reminded me of an incident few days ago. was driving near to end of merging lane and didn't expect any cars coming on to squeeze thru (which i usually let pass cos i got no balls ma!!!)it was pouring then and at nite. suddenly corner of my eyes spotted dim headlights and almost beside me. i was like WTF .....it is almost one car lane already and you still must squeeze onto road shoulder. anyway i was on the centre of the road already and couldn't risk braking hard in the heavy rain. i proceeded on course and no choice but to drive him further out into road shoulder (rather than me going out into the main expressway oncoming cars at high speed). think he jam his brakes and almost swerved into the road shoulder metal. even though i drive a bigger and taller car, i think it is no fun and definitely a waste of egos or watever bravery u call that. people can get hurt.

either way if u more Hiong I always join a lane FnF and horn my way in. err pls dont follow me, because this this style of driving can end up in jail one

based on situational driving, whichever car is in front first, has the right of way IMO.

 

if both cars reach the merging point at the same time, then the car in the right lane has the right of way.

 

Of course, in SG context, no one cares about right of way. The driver with the bigger balls gets the right of way

Ya, i agree, its based on the the situational driving, which one is in front which one has the right of way but then again, if 2 cars were to complete against each other then its a different story for the ROW, so i think its good to practice safe driving and hving an accident at that point is not really worth it.
