Neutral Newbie

Hi all,

I am about to purchase a new car. I goggled but could not find any information on terms of payment when purchasing in new car in Singapore. Can anyone give me some guidance what should the authorised dealer proposed.

1. Day 1 - put $3K deposit

2. Day 5 - 100% of payment inclusive of COE, insurance minus old car rebat

3. Day 15 - COE registered

4. Day 17 - New Car delivered

Is the above the accepted norm or it varies from company to company.

Thanks in anticipation. Hope for a quick response

Cheers

Yes... quite normal... actually depend when you put the deposit... i book my car 1 day before the COE bidding close, next day after the loan approved (before 12noon), they place the bid for me... If you are paying cash, then as long as the payment fully cleared (for cheques) they will start bidding for you.. Once COE bidding completed, then it will all depend whether there is stock for the car or not... if got stock, then very fast, within 10 days after you won the bid, they will do up the car and register it 2-3 days before the collection...

Hi guys I'm a new member here..

I'm kinda frustrated that I can't start a new topic. How do I go about doing it? It's regarding the importing of my RX7 FD from Sydney to Singapore and I just want to enquire whether it is possible to do that.

Thanks

Hi,

I'm a student from Singapore Management University embarking on a project in course, Technology & World Change. My team is intending to build a device which will solve the tailgating issue in Singapore.

As we all know, tailgating is a major cause for most accidents. Our device works like this:

1. A sensor will be attached to the front of the vehicle to detect the distance between itself and the car in front.

2. Once the sensor detects tailgating, meaning a distance of less than 1metre between 2 cars, it will trigger an alarm to the driver. To notify him that he is tailgating the car in front.

The full mechanics and details of our device have yet to be finalized. However, we'd like to hear from you, your views and takes on our innovation.

We hope that you guys can give us feedback on our innovation!

Please revert to us at daniel.soh.2008@smu.edu.sg.

Thanks!!

This item you are building has already been out in the us nad european markets 5 years ago.........
