I think what the threadstarter meant was how to ensure that the car when collecting is brand new.... not as in new car plates... maybe as in mileage...

new car is never new when collect - it should be tested, would have been driven at the port ( or abused ), before reaching the show room you visited.

compare to same brand average FC, if you find the your car FC is unreasonable high, means it is brand new [:p]

Go to factory, wait at the end of the line and catch the car you want and ship it in.

Confirm new...

BTW, what is your intent in the 1st place?

Yeap. Unless you wait at the factory and drive it off yourself when it is fresh and hot.

LOOK UNDERNEATH YOUR CAR.

It should be completely black, like fresh black paint. And check for orginal manufacturer branded product code stickers on the suspension/boot and other components that should extend into the engine bay.

All should be new. [thumbsup]

Hi Mike, thanks for the tip, but why does black means new? When I'm checking the engine, what should I look out for?

Thanks!
