Stare Neutral Newbie March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 i think u misunderstand wet and aquaplan. i do state that AD07 has poor hydroplanning. wherelse T1R has better hydroplanning, still inferior to GSD3. AD07 in wet is very good and predictable, no torque steer in wet @ 2nd gear. T1R in wet is damn poor, longitude or lateral, it understeer easily and cannot hold torque steer @ 2nd gear. AD07 in damp or wet condition is still very solid, even better than SO3 which i tried but thread starter never mention so i didnt review. maybe u r a happy T1R user. i am not, its dry is alrite, but the wet is unforgiving. cant wait to change another tire. ↡ Advertisement
Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 (edited) That's not my experience, but to each his own. I actually like T1R's wet over the others I've tried. Next up I may try CSC2 (Merc) or RS2 (Integra). Edited March 12, 2007 by Vblaster_w211
Stare Neutral Newbie March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 hi, out of the 3 i would buy AD07 again, it has everything except aquaplanning and soft steering response. it has excellent mileage, dry grip, quite quiet until end of life and definately a bargain now. GSD3 is almost perfect if u can live with its super lousy dry grip and ultra soft steering response. value for money though. best tire for soft driver. T1R, i am super disappointed in its wet grip, its dry is acceptable and comfort is good. its like a total diff tire when i switch SO3 to T1R. so quiet so harmony. anyway it all depends on your driving habit. nobody can tell u wat tire is right for u. u gotta trial and error to find out yourself. mileage depends on your car weight, the way u brake, the way u corner and the camber u have. dry or wet grip also depends on your suspension also. the only thing u can believe here is hydroplanning. the other aspect are all subjective. Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 True Hydroplaning - wow. Once you've experienced it at high speed, you'll never want to ever again Choose tyre on your driving style, budget, car setup, keeping in mind our kind of weather. Stare Neutral Newbie March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 there was a time 2005 raining season. i had to travel at 30kph in ecp using AD07. the whole highway is kinda flooded. but i am happy living with AD07 becoz i normally drive slow in wet. not much chance to whack also, as everyone will slow down also. it doesnt rain frequently too. not in the east side, though. Robertoon Neutral Newbie March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 there is a thread on on HANKOOK RS2. I think it give you better understanding of the tyre performance too...
Ferrari7 Neutral Newbie March 13, 2007 Share March 13, 2007 Quote Replying to : Vblaster_w211 I guess you are right. Every tire has it's story, thanks. Yep. Different folks have different driving styles. Also, tyre pressure does significantly affect performance for certain tyres. Hence the discrepancies in the stories I guess. Kelpie 2nd Gear March 19, 2007 Share March 19, 2007 Which one has a stronger side-wall? My side treads usually worn out faster. K105 is a very good wet and dry for me but surprise to see side treads out faster. RS2 has 205/55R15 range? Regards,
Robertoon Neutral Newbie March 20, 2007 Share March 20, 2007 RS2, only 205/50R15....
Toalson 1st Gear March 20, 2007 Share March 20, 2007 K105 or K105 Prime I though side treads worn out faster either u do agressive turns or under inflate tyres. However if I remember correctly K105 is an older design compare to V8RS, and both belong to the comfort bias category right. If its not, I might just try the K105 next change. Kelpie 2nd Gear March 20, 2007 Share March 20, 2007 My understanding is K105 is used for track as well. I was looking for something that is K104 equivalent with some comfort. The details must asked Robertoon . Regards,
Kelpie 2nd Gear March 20, 2007 Share March 20, 2007 Quote RS2, only 205/50R15.... Is 50 less comfortable? Any comparable one to RS2 with 55? Thank you. Regards,
Sambuca Neutral Newbie March 20, 2007 Share March 20, 2007 Quote Hi, Has anyone tried T1R or RS2 before? Care to share your thoughts? Do you know how they compare with AD 07, GSD3 or Sports Maxx? Thanks. why considering only these 2 tyres?
Orixy 2nd Gear March 21, 2007 Share March 21, 2007 (edited) Hi, like to check if the 205/50/15 RS-2 can be fitted on this 15" rim? http://www.stamfordtyres.com/wheels/ssw/exclusive-s016-torque.html ://http://www.stamfordtyres.com/wheels...16-torque.html ://http://www.stamfordtyres.com/wheels...16-torque.html ://http://www.stamfordtyres.com/wheels...16-torque.html Tks! Anyway the place u refering to is not called the sidewall. Side wall is where all the info is printed like make, size etc.The worn area u refering too i call inner or outer thread pattern. Usually the outer is worn faster. The outer part of the wheel where u can see from outside. This is most like due to the follow: - driving style, hard fast cornering - turning to park at slow speeds most terok one! - not aligned wheels - wrong pressure...ur case seems like under inflated Anyway better grip means softer material used = wear faster. You are right that I'm talking about the outer treads. I only use N2 for tires. How I hope all the air pumps at workshops and petrol stations only provide N2. I doubt they are under inflat since I check the pressure regularly and will go KM every now and then to top up the air. I usualy go for alignment every 10k to 15K. 2. I'm someone who will drive within lane at bends. I cannot tolerate dirvers that like to drive on two lanes when cornering, its a prove of lousy handling and inconsiderate driving. 3. I thought Hankook uses silica based compound? Regards,
