Kiatmobile 1st Gear March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 Why didn't they consider banding HID too.... Don't they find that they are also too BRIGHT too? ↡ Advertisement

Chromas 1st Gear March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 I think they should go after those one-eye-too-high taxi for having one headlamp pointed higher than another When you scold those taxi drivers, they'd just say nothing is wrong what, that their highbeam is not on and that they'd show you their highbeams too, which is also mis-aligned. Refeer Neutral Newbie March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 [reply]......they shd wack those with aftermarket HID / Xenon / halogen lights ...... YEAH ... thats right man, I had enough of blinding lights. I don't know about jail, since they love their cars so much, have the, sit through the demolition of the light. And I don't mean technician removng the fog lights ... I'm talking taking SLEDGEHAMMER to all the illegal stuff !!!!! Smash up the Lights, cat-backs, springs, then perhaps charge them for demolition fees .... woohoo Like what the Rock did in 'Standing Tall', that will teach them. Gilgamesh Neutral Newbie March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 Absolutely stupid to jail such offenders. On what basis? On the fact that they might cause accidents? Then should we jail jaywalkers? Jail motorists who forgot to turn on indicator lights when filtering? I dun have a problem with this if it applies BOTH way - anybody ever wonders when things goes wrong, why is it always the end users that are to be punished? We should also jail those dumb road planners who did not plan the designs of roads properly thus causing motorists to take risky manuevuers, or those who failed to maintains the roads and markings periodically and causes potholes, poorly visible markings, etc on the roads, and those dumb scholars and politicians who failed in their responsibilities since they can only think of using ERP to solve congestions problems after pocketing grotesque amount of salaries.... Shinichi21 Neutral Newbie March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 yea, i like this!! go down to jail u a$$holes who like to on fogs at night & at rain BUT dont even on ur normal beam. wat an idiot.
Icekitten Clutched March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 Yep, agree that the glare during sunrise and sunset always brings traffic to a crawl on expressways coz you can't see the road in front, esp when traffic is heavy but not to the extent of being jammed. Actually I feel that HID headlights and foglights on lower sedans aren't that bad. It's when they're on taller vehicles like lorries, MPVs and SUVs that it's really irritating coz the glare is directed right into the eyes of drivers of lower vehicles. No offense to owners of these vehicles. Worst is HID foglights on taller vehicles.
Xefera 6th Gear March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 tell me about it sometimes i even have to position my head so that the glare does not reflect directly into my eyes from the mirrors. perhaps making electro-chromatic mirrors (rear as well as side) compulsory on all cars would be a better idea, with subsidies from LTA
Seanboi 1st Gear March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 tink this is absolutely contradicting... i quote the following - Front fog lamps, which are located beneath the vehicle's headlamps, cast low beams of light that help the driver to make out the immediate foreground fog lamps ... glare can cause discomfort to other road users lets ponder, is'nt it contradicting??? how can low beams cast on the immediate foreground cause discomfort from a distance and fr the rear?? they shd wack those with aftermarket HID / Xenon / halogen lights BTW, personally, i find the glare fr the sun in the day is the worst. especially when it reflects off other cars windscreens... sometimes can see the road Glare from fog lamps doesnt cause discomfort or distract ppl. I m refering to front fog lamps. Its more for cosmetic purposes as they are fitted with halogen bulbs.
Xefera 6th Gear March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 the key here is "with intent", knowing fully well that foglights may blind the drivers ahead of you. btw, you notice that the penalty is a fine or jail term, so 1st timers may just get away with a fine. Xefera 6th Gear March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 that is if the HID is misaligned ... kanna so many times before liao. worst are those taxi drivers and lorries, machiam constanly on high beam does urs comes with chromatic mirrors? thinking of getting one for myself, but yet to find a desirable one yet. Terenc3 1st Gear March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 So its still okay to on fog lamps during rains at night right?
Djcoolmax 2nd Gear March 12, 2007 Share March 12, 2007 Upz for this. Having fog lamps installed does not give the driver the right to turn it on. Please be considerate and don't turn them on. Drive Safe and Be nice. ↡ Advertisement
