3 car pileup at Bt Batok

passed the above scene when i drove down to pick up my gf at jurong west..

 

1 car (i think it's a mazda 3) turtle-ed..hope no one is hurt too badly..

The car which turned turtle doesn't look like a Mazda 3.....it seems like a Toyota Corolla Altis. The other one was a Alfa Romeo 147 & Honda Civic GL.....

the tail light looks like M3 to me leh..but closer the rims and wheels size..can't be M3..me bad me bad..

 

the passenger and driver compartment looks quite solid though..

seems like the impact from the 147 caused the Altis to flip..

both cars might have been speeding.

The overturned veh is confirmed a Toyota Altis.

 

The veh colour, stock Toyota rims, door handles and position of front fog lamps are dead giveaways.

 

Mazda 3 does not come in such a colour.

 

Again, the drivers obviously exceeded the legal speed limit of 50km/h. A collission of such nature wil rarely result in a vehicle overturning.

And the traffic jam on the opposite direction is again, the result of busybody motorists slowing down to take a look.

 

The bus must be tracelling at a snail's pace to enable the Stomp contributor to take so many pictures.

er..the jam is because it's at a T-junction..and all 3 directions reduced down to 1 lane each(instead of the 2) and TP is there to direct traffic..thus the slowdown..

A bit difficult to identify the altis

Might not be as cut and dried as to merely say that they were speeding. Could be an initial impact between two cars, sending one car into the third, causing a situation where the Altis was T-boned, thus causing it to roll over on its side.

Passed by around 4+ pm..only the over-turned car was still there..with 2 men-in-blue directing traffic...so many careless drivers lately..
