Maids wash car

Is it stated somewhere? OT a little, I've seen a maid, having to carry a big pail of water, and a big bag consisting of a few layers of canvas, small pails, rags, to wash a bike every night time. The owner would sound the bike horn when he rides into the carpark, and she has to scram to take a lift downstairs with all the barang-barang to wash and cover up the bike.

Of course, she has to get downstairs each time, before he does, to remove all the canvas, and cloth covers, and bring them back upstairs when he's going out.

Is this considered ill-treatment of maids? I see that she is small, and just skin and bones. She looks terrified by him too.

Actually it is illegal to ask her wash your car.... it is not household chores... i don't know abt pvt house owners if the car park at porch

Where can I obtain a copy of the contract, or regulations laid by the MOM?

Yes there is a black and white on the contract when you sign up for a maid and it's stated under the M.O.M contract to let you employ your maid...

I did not go through the entire contract... too much to read liao. But my lawyer friend did hur.gif , professional hazard i guess dead.gif

The owner is either thinking he is an emperor or some rich man's son.

It can be very sad to see how citizens in a 1st world country like S'pore treat their maids.

And we are talking about educated professionals too.

Some food for thought.

There is this maid living in my neighbourhood who washes her owner's car like almost everyday (Mercedes S350 or something like that, new model), last time I saw her washing the car was when it was about to rain. [:/]

I feel that occasionally ask maid to wash car is ok, but definitely not everyday! Everyday on my way to work, I'll pass by this house where I see the maid wash a blue Honda Jazz. So ridiculous. What does the owner do that requires the car to be washed everyday. I will term this maid abuse, in a subtle sense. [mad]

Educated does not mean civilized, bro.

You can send a crocodile to university but it won't change it's savage and carnivorous nature after the convocation.
