How to Spot a Fake Lexus RX300

That's because you can't telll the difference.

L is L, T is T. L is definitely quieter.

The front seats are fully auto by a touch of a button, other than L, only Merz has the same function.

For the steering wheel, when key is inserted, it electronically protrudes out, when the key is pull out, it retracts, bit high tech. Can change steering wheel, it cost $2-3k for one, however, I don't think it has auto function.

Original L would have "Lexus security alarm" & "Lexus anit-theft sys" which H doesn't enjoy.

What else..? The rear reverse sensor for L is 3 dots on the bumper, H is 2 dots. Yes.. Number plate is very obvious between the two, but of course H can still change to L lookalike. Can bo?

However, by removing the Kerb view mirror, does it risk the H in hitting objects at the kerb as this is the purpose of the mirror. L side mirror auto changes angle when engage in reverse gear, as it is a 'high' car. So by looking at the left side mirror when L reversing you can tell whether it is real.

Frankly, if I can only afford Harrier, I would also keep at its original state. It doesn't portray a positive attitude on the driver who covert. [blush] Some people like to use fake branded accessories, that's fine, but being seen in this big 4 wheels counterfeit goods going around town??? [blush][blush][blush]

What is the purpose of T/S? considering buying a harrier and convert to L?

there are many ways, though some harriers have gone a step further to disguise certain traits:

distinguishing factors:

-left kerb mirror of harriers(quite easily removed though)

-6 spoke harrier rim vs 5 spoke lexus rim

-look at the windows for manufacturer logo(toyota vs lexus print)

-road tax disc

-no. plate, lexus(pursuit of relentless perfection) vs PI no. plate

-interior steering wheel logo(quite easily rebadged too)

-rear wheel differential at undercarriage for lexus(4wd) vs 2wd harrier.

for me i usually just take a look at the rims can tell leow. 5 vs 6 very prominent.

but anyway, if a driver wants to rebadge his harrier to the limit, it's possible. lol

Today at PI saw the Harrier 240G model front windows Toyota logo but rear windows Lexus logo.

Other than that, all the above differences is spot on .

For ppl who can afford to buy a harrier, its minor cosmetic upgrades only, i.e badges. Most toyota (high end) coms with electric seat.

For ppl who buy a lancer, kia, getz whatever (i am not targetting any user here) and they lap on stickers, spoilers, bonnet scoops are worst than slapping on badges.

Correct me if i am wrong..cheers!!

The easiest way to tell is you look at the front headlight.

Lexus has the headlight washer 'hump' on the front bumper. Where a spray nozzle will rasie up and spray water onto the headlight to wash it.

Harrier 99.9% does not have the washer feature!

Actually was torn between a Murano 2.5 and a Harrier. But in the end chose the Harrier cos while doing a search on the net , found the the engine used on the 2.5 Murano (QR25DE )is not very reliable .

How much you pay for it? How is the FC? My dad likes the RX300, I told him " you know how expensive or not? I cannot afford it, its a drive around 4 room flat." haha...

Difference is 2.4GL got Electrical Front Seat, Chrome 17" Rims compare to Silver 17" rims for the G model, Steering wheel Audio control , and AFS head lights (direction change when you steer). But the diff is $5K. Too much for me anyway so I bought the G model.

Paid $96,300. 4 bid guaranteed COE.

Heard FC is around 9 the most 10 km/l. price is fallen a fair bit . Nowadays at 90 plus K. It use to be at around $130++k.

Anyway , I bought my Trajet 2.0 for $90+ k 3 years back . Now change to Harrier also $90+K. Installment same every month. Might as well switch. Also the Trajet is really bad on FC.

I need to correct my mistake on the seat.. The driver seat has two fully auto memory by a touch of a button, other than L, only Merz has the same function.

Seriously, it's not just cosmetic upgrade. The comfort and performance is still not there.

And it actually takes away the pride slowly, and they always shy away from a true Lexus. Ask the Harrier coverted do they feel proud in their ride (fake, i.e. if you dare to ask them right on the face) after their first year?

Harrier is Harrier, what is there to imitate? I would think BM is very smart to make use of these mentality to make famous Lexus. [;)]

And to me, modd is fine, as long as the driver is not reckless.

Harrier is a nice car by itself, why must mod the exterior to be like lexus :(. Toyota is not a shameful brand also wat -_-
