Vit4wd 1st Gear February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 Saw this cool Vios with Brembo brake calipers. Makes the car look great & enhances the stopping distance. Can Brembo brakes be fitted on my orig Getz rims? Will it fit? How much does it cost? ↡ Advertisement
Tkseah Supercharged February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 Maybe it's just a Brembo cover..
Enotsol Neutral Newbie February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 Could it just be a brake cover?
Vtim 3rd Gear February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 (edited) bro, I'm sure you know this is just a brake caliper cover with the Brembo words on it that one is the old model liao, the never version is available here : http://sg.auctions.yahoo.com/sg/i:AET%20BR...20REAR:12545158 and here: http://sg.auctions.yahoo.com/sg/i:Brand%20...21%21:221460311 Edited February 27, 2007 by Vtim
Sturtles 6th Gear February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 The disc is stock, so there's 90% chance its just a cover
Route88 2nd Gear February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 Almost everyone says its cover I also say its cover I tot brembo selling BBK as a whole set? This one, the rotor looks rusty, no slot
Shinichi21 Neutral Newbie February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 100% cover lol. a vios owner wont spent like 5000-10000 buks for real brembo kit. kinda lame la, why want to fake this type of thing......people see also know.
Dermocyma Neutral Newbie February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 so what? why would a vios or getz need brembo anyway?
Vit4wd 1st Gear February 27, 2007 Author Share February 27, 2007 Are those Brembo brakes covers made of plastic or metal? I used my nails and knocked on it and it felt like metal.
Vit4wd 1st Gear February 27, 2007 Author Share February 27, 2007 So one cannot buy just the Brembo brakes calipers? Must buy whole set incl brake disc?
Vtim 3rd Gear February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 this I not too sure
Weihui Clutched February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 Brembo calipers are very model specific. Unless you wanna customized all the parts from bracket, disc rotor.. etc Further, I don't think it's very cost effective to buy Brembo for smaller disc rotor (not sure whether it ever exists), the Brembo on Evos need to clear 17" 7.5J rims at least. Vit4wd 1st Gear February 27, 2007 Author Share February 27, 2007 That means if one sees any Brembo brakes on cars with wheels smaller than 17", the Brembo brakes calipers are actually just cosmetic covers?
Route88 2nd Gear February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 Not sure ..maybe 2nd hand? I only know brembo sell rotor and pad as separate items But why would anyone upgrade brembo brake caliper to be use with original rotor
Weihui Clutched February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 I would say your statement is true with 90% confidence interval. However, lots of civic (EG, Ek, ESi) are equipped with brembo disc rotor (black color).
Sturtles 6th Gear February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 But it really looks nice, and can fool girls and car enthusiasts like Vit4wd. They can go about shouting they sat in their friend's car with Red BREMBO brakes
Shinichi21 Neutral Newbie February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 (edited) this is the real brembo.... 8 pot, big diameter too. so must complement with 20" rims. see how much gap left? little. so if ur car rims so small, change the brake also not nice to look at. only can use that fake brembo cover...which is ugly. my fren car, in indo. if u wonder why the car so low, coz its using air suspension. Sturtles 6th Gear February 27, 2007 Share February 27, 2007 There are 2 reasons why people buy real brembo brakes. 1) It looks great, no doubt when compared to stock ones on the budget cars 2) It's most probably a better brake setup than stock ones. So ugly or not, its not a bad change, as like power, brakes are never enough ↡ Advertisement
