Felipe 3rd Gear March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 i didn't browse thru all the posts here but i suppose the writer's intention originally was to say YRVT is a great car in its CLASS. That itself it pretty subjective but i'm sure there are sufficient grounds to earn that credit. i guess the problem started when ppl started to elevate the status of the YRVT beyond its class. I suppose that wasn't their intention but in a place where written words are our only means of communication, misunderstandings are inevitable. Then, it gets worse when others questioned the YRVT's credibility. Again, the intention was to merely question, not to place a judgement. However, those reading it misinterpreted that as being condescending and biased against the YRVT. I suppose all sides should respect each others' views and some of the responses shows signs of personal attacks, which i do not advocate. For eg, i questioned placing the YRVT alongside the WRX. I myself do not know much about this car and i asked some questions about it, such as its cornering ability, its high speed stability etc. Unfortunately, the intentions were misunderstood that i was biased against this car. In my other forum, we question even our own marque's performance and no one has ever taken it personally. Bear in mind, its a question, not a judgement. In questioning, we learn the strengths and weaknesses of each other's rides well. In a nutshell, this thread could be allowed to drift w/o losing the very essence of what its about- learning more about turbos, wrxs, yrvts etc. imo, i feel a thread does not need to necessarily stick to its main objective. Side information can help us gain valuable info. unfortunately, it degenerated into personal attacks, name callings. Hopefully, we can all start getting our focus back again and complement rather than be in conflict.

Julian Clutched March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 (edited) The initially intention of this thread is to tell people that YRV turbo is a fast car in its own class that is being forgotten. Usually forumers like to start fire which ends up some unhappiness. Edited March 1, 2007 by Julian

Clio Neutral Newbie March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 (edited) if u want hot fact...try asking about it. i dont remember you asking your opinion on that car. try asking in a proper manner and not coming in to discriminate and than say u r trying to find out more. btw...this post is not about the car again. its about u. so dont tell me about the car for your next post ok? promise? Clio Neutral Newbie March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 friend, u r right about this. owner has to defend their own ride. but the problem with some guys here is they make story out of thin air jus for the purpose of making a rubbish comment to prove their ego. and from rubbish comments they turn it into a flaming war of personality. most of the post here not about the car, but some idiot jus picked up the topic again... Felipe 3rd Gear March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 (edited) hmm...i beg to differ abit here. everyone is entitled to his view of a car. Some are able to give their views in a diplomatic manner. Some don't, like Jeremy Clarkson for instance. And before you think he's a lad who slams cheap cars only, the porsches, mercs etc have been at his mercy too. the car that i drive has had its fair share of jokes too. i can list them for u. 1. depreciates as fast as it accelerates 2. you have to be insane to buy it. 3. supermodel with a rubbish personality. & many more! But every car has its own uniqueness. Loving a car is an art. No one can say you're wrong in feeling for a tin can. The difference is the views are given on the car, not the person. However, some ppl take it personally. I suspect this has to do with their insecure nature, in which they place their security in the 4 wheels and when its under attack, they start to feel insecure. i'm not saying you shouldn't defend a car. But it's one thing to defend it, and another to be defensive about it. If one is secure in himself, no amount of opinions good or bad can send him into offensive mode. In the end, everyone has their views and we should just accept plurality is part of life and agree to disagree. Clio Neutral Newbie March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 now i understand why u r so defensive towards this thread. so u are jus another 2.0 litre NA car owner? lemme guess...156 JTS? 165hp? so u want to prove anything? i can give u cold and hot fact about yrvt vs AR 156 JTS with ss exhaust. you want to listen? anyway...i jus want to forward the same msg i forwarded to turbonetic. i donno u, u donno me. we live in a totally different environment and family. no matter how harsh it is for u trying to understanding the comments here. i sincerely hope it wont affect your personal life. love your parents. Felipe 3rd Gear March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 (edited) i hope u could provide any evidence that i was discriminatory towards the YRVT. i was raising some doubts about it, but if you think i can't have doubts about this car, just as i would with every other car, then that's fine with me too. do and say whatever u wish. keep calling me names if that's how u prefer to deal with this. my focus remains on understanding the different rides mentioned here. and actually, i must thank the several writers here including yrself for correcting my misguided notions of the YRVT. I'm actually convinced that it's arguably the best car in its class. FYI, my latest post just shows how u clearly misunderstood the words i've written. but its ok, these things happen. btw, you could post yr findings about how the 156JTS was smoked, outgun, outrun. This is a place where freedom of information should be. But of course, i'm not sure if everyone who buys a car buys it for the sole purpose of winning 0-100 times. i'm glad there's diversity in this world. some love 0-100, some love handling, some love aesthetics. If not, the world would be a boring place. And i wouldn't be one to impose my beliefs on others, period. Edited March 1, 2007 by Felipe
Clio Neutral Newbie March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 well thanks for your positive feedback. i hope your questions are answered...but since it is not answered yet to u. u may want to ask it again. some kind soul may wish to answer u the good old fashion way. if u notice...your writing style is better now. Clio Neutral Newbie March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 come on...dont edit your post to pick a fight... how many time must i tell u that this topic was nv about the car anymore? i have nv nv nv post to boost my ego on how i win this car how i win that car. this is so insignificant and so meaningless in my context. rem...there is no price money on the road. so stop asking for things not appreciated. Yc86 Clutched March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 I don't get why u all r so agitated by ppl commenting on the YRVt. Since u're driving one, u r the best to know it's limits n what it can do. different cars r designed for different purposes.. even an engine is designed for an optimum operating range, be if for xcountry, cruise, short A-B trips.. etc aircraft r also designed for a particular optimum speed n altitude. btw, i also driving a small 1.3L car... power to weight is there, but i also dun dare say can outrun 2.0l cars. compare also within that class, 1.5L n below.. or even some 1.6L. dyno sheet with 220plus horses. lol.. more like 220hp for 2 cars.. Yc86 Clutched March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 how many time must i tell u that this topic was nv about the car anymore? seems like you're the one who's ensuring that it's not about the car anymore... or is that your objective? alot of ppl here are trying to extinguish the flames, no one's playing with the fire anymore. ↡ Advertisement
