Fourth 2nd Gear March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 Well said. I like the way you expressed yrself. I support like the many before me.
Turbonetics 2nd Gear March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 nobody wans their cars to be discriminated.. somehow owners hav to defend their ride.. your are right.everybody would want to defend their own ride. but up to how much level,it has to depend on individual. if you are too defensive, you will never accept how others comment on your ride.and if you are open enough, you will learn to correct the bad to good. i got a friend when he just got his Kia Rios,he keep telling all of us that "that day i smoke a Galant, that day i smoke a mazda 6...etc"his car is stock. we laughed at behind him and discuss among ourself that the the other car are not even racing with him. Turbonetics 2nd Gear March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 (edited) now i understand why u r so defensive towards this thread. so u are jus another 2.0 litre NA car owner? lemme guess...156 JTS? 165hp? so u want to prove anything? i can give u cold and hot fact about yrvt vs AR 156 JTS with ss exhaust. you want to listen? anyway...i jus want to forward the same msg i forwarded to turbonetic. i donno u, u donno me. we live in a totally different environment and family. no matter how harsh it is for u trying to understanding the comments here. i sincerely hope it wont affect your personal life. love your parents. bro, remeber we made peace? hope you don't take any offence to this post of mine. even if "Filipe" is driving the abovementioned alfa with 165bhp,what do you want him to prove? if your yrv turbo is having 190 on wheels like the specs you mentioned,i bet you win his ride. but alfa romeo got other good things about it too.its not always who is faster that win. what if he tell you that he want to prove to you that who got a better made gearbox?or whose car is more luxury?or whose car is more expensive? and i certainly agree YRV turbo is a bang for buck car.with this point, you can win alot of cars out there. Turbonetics 2nd Gear March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 i didn't browse thru all the posts here but i suppose the writer's intention originally was to say YRVT is a great car in its CLASS. That itself it pretty subjective but i'm sure there are sufficient grounds to earn that credit. i guess the problem started when ppl started to elevate the status of the YRVT beyond its class. I suppose that wasn't their intention but in a place where written words are our only means of communication, misunderstandings are inevitable. Then, it gets worse when others questioned the YRVT's credibility. Again, the intention was to merely question, not to place a judgement. However, those reading it misinterpreted that as being condescending and biased against the YRVT. I suppose all sides should respect each others' views and some of the responses shows signs of personal attacks, which i do not advocate. For eg, i questioned placing the YRVT alongside the WRX. I myself do not know much about this car and i asked some questions about it, such as its cornering ability, its high speed stability etc. Unfortunately, the intentions were misunderstood that i was biased against this car. In my other forum, we question even our own marque's performance and no one has ever taken it personally. Bear in mind, its a question, not a judgement. In questioning, we learn the strengths and weaknesses of each other's rides well. In a nutshell, this thread could be allowed to drift w/o losing the very essence of what its about- learning more about turbos, wrxs, yrvts etc. imo, i feel a thread does not need to necessarily stick to its main objective. Side information can help us gain valuable info. unfortunately, it degenerated into personal attacks, name callings. Hopefully, we can all start getting our focus back again and complement rather than be in conflict. i think iam the one who started bringing out car of bigger cc saying that YRV turbo can match most cars up to 1.8litre...etc...i don't mean to start any flaming here.i think its a compliment to YRV turbo.then some people started to say it can win alot of 2 litre and above cars.from here,it created my curiosity.i guess it goes to you too cause i was surprised to learn that.and i believe you are like me who wants to know more fact and asked more questioned to clear our doubts and to learn.maybe we need prove to be convinced and not just by hearsay. on the other hand,Perseus76 did provide some of his personal experiences.he changed a little of my mindset towards YRV turbo.i always thoght the auto tranny could not hold too much power.same like you,i hope this thread could go back to its relevant topic.yrv tubo is not a common car.not many people bring it up.this is a good time to learn more on this car.Flamers, shooo shoooo.go back to the "i quarrelled with police officer" thread. Spade Neutral Newbie March 1, 2007 Share March 1, 2007 hey, i like my stupid thread. it's the coolest thread every borne out of anger. At least it's my thread. What's stupid about this thread is that a "niteblu" started it, and then loud mouthed, "clio" started to take charge and own it making it sound like it's his thread, and then a even more "chiasin" comes in to people who are simply giving their thoughts. If nobody gives their thoughts, then the thread is dead. Like I said, it is a fan boy club, this thread, where people bashing is prelevant. There's nothing fan boy about my stupid thread... just venting frustrations. "I don't like what you're saying about my car so that makes you a dumbarse." Exactly. Stupid thread.
