Andrewkb Neutral Newbie April 22, 2003 Share April 22, 2003 Just another thought that I am thinking about. Most car is adequately powered w/o the air con switched on. However, once the air con is switched on, the power drop big time ! Am just curious, why didn't the car manufacturer EVER thought of balancing the torque/power to that with the air con switched on during the design ? I know certain countries dun use aircon when weather is cool, but they still have summer rite ? Just curious ↡ Advertisement
Konspire Neutral Newbie April 22, 2003 Share April 22, 2003 that's true....but the problem with climatic countries, they wind down their windows when it's summer cause the wind and breeze is still cooling. furthermore...they sell the cars with air-con as an option, so if want, pay more if not.......like that the price.... Duadua2 Neutral Newbie April 22, 2003 Share April 22, 2003 wat to do....the air-con is a luxury...just off the air-con when u in a hurry.on the air-con when u has all the time in the world n enjoy the cool air.
Konspire Neutral Newbie April 22, 2003 Share April 22, 2003 yeah....actually, sometimes i drive without the air-con if I'm alone. get the feel of the real power.......but the lugs doesn't feel much after the engine has been running for quite a while....when the engine is warmed up totally. Turbobrick Neutral Newbie April 22, 2003 Share April 22, 2003 Some cars have A/C compressor auto shut off if the rpm climbs above a pre-set to allow more power for the car for a short time (e.g. overtaking).

Sparrow Neutral Newbie April 25, 2003 Share April 25, 2003 Quote Yes, night time travelling at expressway was shiok with front window down Hi, although all power is channeled to the engine, the open window has increase the drag...I think the best deal is still to install wind deflector and open the window slightly to allow air circulation
