Dwoon 1st Gear April 14, 2007 Author Share April 14, 2007 What is FP3000? Is it better? Price? BTW, I found the best mix ratio was was 2/3 the recommended. i.e. I used 2 ounces instead of 3 for 60 litres. This managed to give me smoother running engine minus the downside of lesser power (butt feel) ↡ Advertisement
Garlic 1st Gear April 14, 2007 Share April 14, 2007 If I remembered correctly, its supposed to be more concentrated than FP60 and also a UCL. Its mainly designed for fleet use and the product is not officially launched yet, even so its only available in bulk.

O2asis Neutral Newbie April 16, 2007 Share April 16, 2007 FP3000 is made from renewable resources. And yes, has stronger UCL (Upper Cylinder Lube) properties. It has gone through many tests which EPA recognised including the J1321 SAE fuel economy evaluation procedure on Detroit DD60 engine(among the top 3 tested product in the last 25 years). FP3000 is based on FP60 formula FP3000 treated LSD (low sulphur diesel) attained excellent results when compared to what Caterpillar Fuel Specs require. FP60/FP3000 is the most complete fuel additive available in the market. FP cleans up the fuel delivery system, cleans up the fuel injectors, lubricates the fuel pump and fuel injectors (thus lengthens its operational life), treats the fuel to burn better, removes water from fuel tank, removes rust and inhibits further corrosion, lowers the exhaust emission (CO, NOx, HC) and of course smokey exhaust. Also acts as a fuel stabilizer. FP3000 won't be available in the near future for retail sales. However remember FP3000 is based on the original FP60 formula :)
Saaber Neutral Newbie April 16, 2007 Share April 16, 2007 Seems like you found the "sweet spot" for your ride... stay with FP60, it is good enough. I have tried both but personally I still prefer FP60, quite similar in nature for both product ...
Garlic 1st Gear April 16, 2007 Share April 16, 2007 I'm almost done with my first bottle of FP60 and all I can say is it does what it claims. Started LC20 and FP60 after ARX treatment and with a 30wt oil, my dad's 230JM is returning 9.5km/L. My mom's Rio 1.6 CVVT has been on LC20 and FP60 for 2000+km and its currently returning 12+km/L. For FP60, I'm following the recommended dosage of 1oz per 20L. FP60 is really something and its not easy for a product to gather that much support in BITOG. Solar Turbocharged April 20, 2007 Share April 20, 2007 OK guys..... I've just purchased a bottle of the FP60 and have used it in the car for about a week (1 tank). Initial effects was that the engine runs smoother & quieter although the power seems like abit retarded in my case. After 2 days or so of driving, I don't realise it that much.... guess it's too slight to really make a diff. Anyway, after about 4 days of usage, the problem I had with cold starts (engine like doesn't want to crank and almost stalls before catching on) is greatlty reduced. Now, at the 6th day, its like gone. Wonder if my injectors were dirty and the FP60 helped clean them. I'm gonna use it for another week, then stop to see whether my previous starting problem comes back to haunt me..... or whether its cured for good. Just to feedback what I experienced on my ride. same here.. engine is so much smoother, and noticably less noisy. probably can be mistaken for more power? also, cranks on the 1st attempt from cold, dunno if due to lc20 or fp60.. i dunk both in the car anyway, just 1st tank.. dunno how's the fc though.. would be most impressed if its able to improve fc from 6-7kml right now
Dwoon 1st Gear April 20, 2007 Author Share April 20, 2007 Wah.... 6 - 7km/l Yours is even worse than mine. I'm about 7.5km/l on average. What's your ride? I've left about 3 ounces of the stuff.... need to replenish liao....
