Curahee 1st Gear February 21, 2007 Share February 21, 2007 Dun think so, think will below 10k. My personal view is they still need to increase more cars on the road.
Karoon Turbocharged February 21, 2007 Share February 21, 2007 leader in auto industry got vested interest. anyway whether up or down those buggers still make money, at expense of buyers
Tkseah Turbocharged February 21, 2007 Share February 21, 2007 My guess next round COE Cat A will be between 8-9k..
Mcf1 Neutral Newbie February 21, 2007 Share February 21, 2007 Nowadays most car buyers are getting smarter, they don't rush in without doing their sum. One of my Friend who bought a deluxe corolla altis at s$51988 with everything throw in when COE was 12k plus, now COE at 5.2k and yet the selling price at S$53576, the Authorize dealer are blood suckers, COE up or down they still win, so it doesn't really matter whether COE 5k or 10k, the dealers already factor in the COE increase. Octopus 3rd Gear February 21, 2007 Share February 21, 2007 I feel it will be below $10k.... Anyone knows any other country require to purchase a certificate worth >S$10k in order to own a car?
Rangefighter Neutral Newbie February 21, 2007 Share February 21, 2007 Although, the COE drop around 50-60%.. But all car sellers drop around lesser than the COE as they predict the next COE, it will go up to around 10K. The reason for this low COE is that people are busy with property buying and forget abt car.
Wadexu 1st Gear February 21, 2007 Author Share February 21, 2007 I don't think "busy with property buying" is the reason of ppl forgot about the car. those who are qualified to participate the hot property game don't care about the COE up and down, the 5% download payment of the property can easily cost a small car. They will buy the new car when they need it no matter it's a 5K or 10K COE.

Mikeyeo Clutched February 21, 2007 Share February 21, 2007 Hi OCTOPUS, I do not know how old are you but for your information, years back, the then Malaysian PM showed to the world that they have the capability to produce cars such as PROTON. Well, our so and so mentioned that we do not need to manufacture vehicles to make revenues from vehicle buyers. They just need that piece of paper which is the COE Certificate to get revenues. From what I know off, Singapore is the only country that adopt COE.

Russ 1st Gear February 21, 2007 Share February 21, 2007 Almost DEFINITE it will be above 10k. Last month, dealers had only about 10 days to collect orders. IMO.
Sfhuang Clutched February 21, 2007 Share February 21, 2007 I think will be 9-10k because the market is "controlled" by the dealers. Lower COE means more orders coming in. Then one shot COE will increase and almost every buyer needs to top up.
