Wolverman Neutral Newbie September 4, 2007 Share September 4, 2007 Thought I would share my experience after installing the sprint booster. I cannot talk about other models or engines as I have no idea what it would be like to drive. I have an CVT and the biggest let down with this car is that when I am on auto (not manual shift) the car is larthargic to move and use the power. There is a small delay of about a FEW second and then vroom.... power comes on. With shifting manually this is gone but don't plan on shifting manually all the time when i drive and at times where you want to overtake in a tight space, that delay gives you no confidence at all. Appereantly what it is is a positionmeter that further-calibrates the accelerator with the throttle body in order to get rid of that drive by wire jerkyness that most E-throttle cars seem to have..... the end result is more like driving a high-performance car when it comes to throttle response. So at the end it leaves the ECU tunning bone-stock, so no HP / TQ gains are seen, just plane throttle response and feel. The claim is not to add any more power but to make the throttle response more linear. It is supposed to keep the throttle pedal angle to throttle angle opening at a fixed ratio (say 1:1) vs. the adaptive ratio you get from the factory. If anyone is expecting a HP gain from this spend your money elsewhere. Anyways, the installation is piss easy and it took less than a minute. Unplug connector, plug the new connector in series and voila! The freaking thing just responds from the moments you touch the pedal and the power comes on like it should in a car that does have some sensible power. It is so much faster to respond and launch itself. . Having said that, dont worry , the power is not on or off, you can feather the accelerator and the car can drive as smoothe as a baby's behind... so dont worry about that. The car just feels farking FAST. Like I expected it to be when I first got it. Feels like a big V8 in there. A lot more controllable. You WILL notice a difference and if you always felt like you were waiting for this car to go fast, you WILL like it. It's more like it wants to go, and you're just holding it back - it feels like a fast car. THIS is what I always wanted this car to be. I like this booster very much, the car is responsive, but still controllable (you will need to feather the throttle more than before). I have had the opportunity to really open her up recently on a run in NSH , accelerating has improve dramatically over all gear ratio. Other notes: After a 3/4 push on the accelerator, the car moves very quick, but when backing off the pedal, the car is still accelerating faster than before. For those who are concerned about the money. To be honest with you, I am so happy about the response that it has given the car that I think the asking price is not so bad. I agree tho, it should be cheaper then it will just fly off the shelf. Anyhow, what I get in enjoyment is well worth the money.
