If the transmission is CVT then the car maker want how many gear also can. Cos physically there is no really gears in CVT. Vit4wd 1st Gear February 16, 2007 Share February 16, 2007 (edited) The Mazda 2 (M2) is a newer model and way more spacious & powerful than the Honda Jazz, which is an old outgoing model, launched 5 yrs ago. Alothough the M2 drinks just slightly more, majority would rather pay $5K more for the Jazz. Unless you travel high mileage, the difference in consumption is very minor. Honda has better resale value? All resale cars have no value - only based on paper and body value. How much more can a Jazz body fetch over a M2 body, if any at all? Again, it is all about branding.
