Carcraze 1st Gear February 11, 2007 Share February 11, 2007 very different cars. One is for performance driving, the other is more of a cruiser. The LGT is Turbocharged while the MX is NA. LGT is much more powerful than the MX thus FC is higher. MX is RWD while LGT is AWD. Space wise: MX is more spacious than the LGT (even the civic's wheelbase is longer than LGT) Answering your question, 1. Comfort -MX 2. Performance -LGT 3. Handling -LGT 4. FC -MX (very good i heard, for a 2.5V6) 5. Looks -MX(elegance) LGT(not very, but i guess you can say it's "sporty") 6. Maintainence -MX(cheaper, own workshop) LGT(can be maintained by agent)

Godzilla1 Neutral Newbie February 12, 2007 Author Share February 12, 2007 dunno about the luxurious part in mark x ( very basic ) .... IMO i thought the LGT feels more comfy n luxurious that the MX .. ride wise ... cannot comment as never test drive the MX .. but base on stats ... the LGT will eat MX alive
Vamp Neutral Newbie February 12, 2007 Share February 12, 2007 (edited) 6. Maintainence -MX(cheaper, own workshop) LGT(can be maintained by agent) Huh? Both cars can be maintain at workshops outside or by agent... so what's the diff? Is the MX more comfortable than the LGT? Have u tried sitting in both cars? Wheelbase longer does not mean more spacious. The LGT is more spacious than the Civics and Acccords. Is the MX really so spacious? I had the impression it's about the same. Sgr1 Neutral Newbie February 12, 2007 Share February 12, 2007 i don't know much about the Mark X, but have you tried listening to the sound system (which i can't seem to recall for the life of me) that comes stock with the LGT? I think that adds like 100 points to luxury...
Green_carnation Clutched February 12, 2007 Share February 12, 2007 Performance wise Mark X definitely not as good as LGT.. Heheehe.. guez probably due to the exteriro that I feel more luxurious in the cabin.. When inside LGT, i think i already hv a thinkin itz more of a performance-based car that i dun feel as good as in Mark X...
Vamp Neutral Newbie February 12, 2007 Share February 12, 2007 Yes, I have been enjoying the McIntosh System for the past 2 years plus. The vocals sounds lovely, much better than my BMW 5 series' (E39) system (Quite surprising as the E39 has better soundproofing). I did additional soundproofing on my LGT (stock already quite good but I just wanted more) and the mid and low range is much better now. There is a group soundproofing exercise going on now in the new Legacy forum (http://subarulegacy.sg/). All in all, I do agree that the Legacy has a good balance of luxury, comfort and excellent price/performance - it's quite a gem in what the current market has to offer. Carcraze 1st Gear February 12, 2007 Share February 12, 2007 (edited) ok, maybe it wasn't so clear, but what i meant is that the LGT can be maintained by the authorised dealer (MI). some people just don't dare take the PI route and using "outside authorised" workshops. about which car is more comfortable, yes i have set and tested both. Mark X is a tad more spacious at the back (i compared by pushing back both the fronts seats to its max. the ride on the MX is slightly better. But then again, you don't buy the legacy for ride comfort, or rather, thats not a priority. the legacy is a superb drivers car. it handlles well. The LGT is definitely less spacious then the Accord. Legroom and Headroom is better in the accord. Infact, even the civic is slightly more spacious thou maybe not noticeable. The Civic has a rear flat floor and thats an advantage. Btw, longer wheelbase (not overall car length) do actually translate to better legroom. Edited February 12, 2007 by Carcraze
Vamp Neutral Newbie February 12, 2007 Share February 12, 2007 When I got into the Accord and Civic, I find the driver's seat pretty cramped up compared to the Legacy. As for rear passenger legroom, Legacy is probably slightly less than the other 2. But in terms of space in width, I think the Legacy is better. Ya... cars with rear flat floor really has an advantage in space. As for maintainence, a lot of bros gave up on MI and went to outside workshop anyway. Carcraze 1st Gear February 12, 2007 Share February 12, 2007 (edited) Legacy's width is also smaller then the civic and accord leh.. I guess it's due to the way the seats are designed. But anyways, they're all different categories of cars. So it really depends on what you're looking for. One thing i like abt the legacy is its Piano Black console. Looks very nice and solid. Yea, seems like MI's aftersales isn't very good? Heard some not-so-nice stuff. Edited February 12, 2007 by Carcraze
