I would choose Mazda 6 - best value 2000cc car now at S$68,800.

Comes with 5 speed auto and while it is an old model, glitches, if any, would have been sorted out. And it is from the authorised distributor too - peace of mind.

Honda Civic - Hybrid is new technology & not mass produced yet. Am uncertain about spare parts availability and cost & have to service at agent (expensive). I don;t know of any outside workshops that can handle hybrid cars.

Honda Edix - Great car but there is uncertaintity as it is a Parallel Import car. Spare parts availability? Easy to get?

how did you arrive to this poll to compare three different types of car?

you might as well poll it as :

which car should i buy, sports-sedan, semi-MPV or hybrid car?

all three cars cater to specific needs. i think cannot compare unless we know what is your needs and drive preference.

i would love to own all the 3 cars if i'm earning the pay of our president [hur]

i intend to drive the car for 5 years.

actually i am very concern about fuel consumption, power comes secondary. love the look and specs of m6 but worry that it drinks. civic hybrid doesn't drink that much but also no power. of the 3 i like the look of edix most but its a 6 seaters which i dun really need at the moment, a drinker and from PI.

my head say get the hybrid but my heart goes to the edix.

m6 is like a mistress can't get her off my mind.

i've been troubled by this the last few days liao [sweatdrop]

John would choose Honda civic hydrid cos he believe he can help to save the environment

Ah Seng would choose Mazda 6 cos its cool and fit his image.

Ahmad would choose Honda Edix cos would fit his family nicely for the 3x3 seating arrangement

From these eg. maybe u can fit which car for you. tongue.gif

did not consider airwave as i'm currently driving a 1.6 so thought of upgrading my ride.

the hybrid no doubt is only 1.3 but am fascinated by its fuel saving technology.

Erm the most impt element of any car's FC is your right foot. Otherwise at most i think differ by 2-3 km/L. N u comparing the edix with a 2L car and a hybrid (which i assume must have the best FC definitely).

Maybe the civic 1.8L version? Supposed to have decent FC for a 1.8L engine.

If i were u, i wld get the m6 since its the car u obviously like the most and its not that exp anyway. but resale value of mazda is low, pls note since u not planning to keep for 10 yrs.

Most 2L cars with a gentle right foot shld be doing arnd 10km/L +-. unless u travel great distances daily, really the petrol consumption vs 12+ km/L of ur 1.6L ride is really quite ok.

The Civic hybrid was awarded the recent World Green car of the year. No doubt save fuel but if you're not use to slower pick-up, you may find it a pain to drive. You can also consider Toyota Prius. Any cars can also go "green" by dropping in a NG conversion kit at $2000.

Mazda 6 replacement is long overdue. Once new model arrived, the dated model value drop like crazy. If I'm looking for 2.L car, I will not look at Mazda 6, no matter how cheap, not unless I'm a Mazda die-hard.

Then best not to buy the dated model now. Buy it during lelong sales or buy one from used car market after the launch of the new model.

Do you need to ferry many people? Is interior space important for you?

You want a bigger capacity car than your current 1.6l. yet you are concerned about fuel economy - contradicts.

Honda Jazz is economical.

I cannot think of any cars bigger than 1600cc that is ecoonomical (or at least more economical than your current 1.6 - What car is it?), except for hybrid cars.
