bro, 1st you need to register andthen download "All Official Maps in Gmapsupp" from http://www.malsingmaps.com/forum/modules.p...download&cid=10. This include Sin and Mal maps.

Buy a new SD card, make a new folder and name it Garmin on your SD card and copy the download file in. That's all, completed.

If you like to have some POI to alert you of ERP Gantries, Speed trap or Redlight camera, you can dowload from http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.php/..._Gantries_files

From the same SD card, open another new folder and name it POI. Same steps, copy the download file in.

Remember to register. All maps are provided by malsingmaps.com community. Please read their Copyright Notice.

Hi I do not own a GPS but just wonder is it useful to locate some industrial areas.

Eg ocassionally I need to go JB or KL to visit clients and they are located in industrial areas and these roads cannot be seen on my old maps. Anyone of you using for similar purpose care to comment?

Thanks [;)]

I had enquired for a C550 at PW but they carry any. It's a c510 (if I am not wrong) that they have. I think I may have to order online for one, any lobang for a good online store? I want a Europe map with the C550 since I holiday in Europe more than US.

Hi bro..thanks for the instructions, will try it out soon.

Just a few more queries please if you guys dont mind.

a) Do we need to load any CD for the particular GPS model into our PC first?

b) You mentioned to copy the download file into a new folder on the SD card, which we are to name Garmin,so do i actually just copy and paste from downloads or just drag the whole download file into the SD card?

Sorry if i am asking very silly questions, hope you guys will excuse me.

Cheers.

For NUVI series, there's no CD....thus its straight forward

b) You mentioned to copy the download file into a new folder on the SD card, which we are to name Garmin,so do i actually just copy and paste from downloads or just drag the whole download file into the SD card?

Unzipped the file and copy into Garmin folder

Call and compare the prices, but be very careful when buying Nuvi300, some shops sells Nuvi300 with TTS function, some sell without TTS function!

I miss out something...the POI folder must be in the Garmin folder. That means there are 2 thing inside your Garmin folder:- gmapsupp and POI folder.

The easy step that I have provide are ready to use with Garmin StreetPilot and Nuvi models. Recommended for newbies without Mapsource who are not familiar yet with the operations of PatchIMG.

Could the Garmin StreetPilot and Nuvi models connect to the video input of my in-dash LCD monitor?

I read from review that Nuvi 310 has reading problem under direct sunlight, so I checked out the bigger Nuvi 670. I found that the Nuvi670 seems to be a good set since it comes preloaded with NA and Europe map. It is selling at S$1195 at Expansys Sg.

Unless you travel to Europe and NA often, you'll be paying for a white elephant (the maps I mean) [:p]
