Kelpie 2nd Gear February 3, 2007 Share February 3, 2007 1. I wonder why are there so many cars pasted with Singapore Police Force decal? I've even seen one with 2 infront and one behind? Don't tell me these days there are so many full-time policemen around? 2. I asked someone why he wanted to paste the SPF decal on his windscreen. He told me, car will be less likely to be booked and get stolen in JB. 3. I doubt these people know misrepresentation or impersonation is itself a crime! By the way, I have yet to hear people (non-policeman) kena caught or fined for pasting SPF decal. I'm equating these decal as no-taste sticker, which is really an eye sore. What do you guys think? macrosszero Turbocharged February 3, 2007 Share February 3, 2007 Maybe they are reservist policemen and that decal lets them enter and park on police premises when they got back for their reservist training. In JB, maybe the Tengku's own crest is a better "talisman" to ward off the evil.
Spinworkx Clutched February 3, 2007 Share February 3, 2007 I personally know a few people who put the decals because they somehow think that with it, they won't kena summon or get stopped by TP/ROV that easily.. How true this is i don't know but if your drive safely, why need to be afraid of getting stopped?

Dermocyma Neutral Newbie February 3, 2007 Share February 3, 2007 (edited) its a psychological thing with some individual with less than common IQ. they see the authority such as the police and its uniform as a leverage and with that comes power and superiority amongst other fellow commoners. most of them with these decals also feel that they have same level of authority and hence are immuned to prosecution or summon in event of traffic violation. from a psychology standpoint, its 'the VVIP syndrome' similar to having a plastic toy national flag flying in front of the car. they get the feeling of being someone of significant to the state. but fret not, bcos medication is available for these mentally challenged individual. sound silly? ever seen a police beret/hat in the car? Kaer Neutral Newbie February 3, 2007 Share February 3, 2007 There was once I was out with few friends in 2 cars. 1 car with the police decal on the front screen, the other without. Gone to a hawker to eat supper, parked at the open carpark where we could see our cars. Suddenly Fatimah walked past, car without decal kana summon. Gnoikj Neutral Newbie February 3, 2007 Share February 3, 2007 Cos they are idiots... Given the unpopularity of police in our sunny island, its only idiots who will draw this kind of attention to themselves.. I asked a police friend of mine if its SOP for them to put the decal...his reply was that no sane cop in his/her right mind would do that...hampers their work also.. In JB, maybe the Tengku's own crest is a better "talisman" to ward off the evil. Actually about a year before i left, there was a SOP created stating that no parking permits were to have the SPF logo.
