Shell moved from OCBC to UOB. OCBC has moved to Caltex with 5% discount. Not sure what Shell has now.

Caltex also stopped their promo with HSBC since their new tie up with Shell.

It's a bloody musical chair!

OK, so 2 cards ongoing. But Caltex is definitely pushing OCBC more with notices outside.

Just like Shell, for a while going with OCBC and UOB. But soon, OCBC's no more with them. Like I said, musical chairs.

Let me guess here. Any marketing campaign that bang on consumers' gambling instints to entice them to bet on lucky draw is not a sincere campaign but one that tries to maximise maximal profit. This is evident of tha fact that oil companies are making record profit even as the crude oil prices are increasing. The explanation that they have to pass the cost to consumers DO NOT HOLD WATER HERE but JUST A MERE EXCUSE to make more money. The essence of competiton do not really exist amongst the few competing oil companies as they are truely funtioning like what every economics teck book describe them to be a CARTEL. True competition truly benefits the customer at the end of the day not the oil companies themselves with record profits!!!!

lousy Shell, last time I get $1 smart dollor for every $30. Now with the 3% rebate, the $30 is only giving me $0.90

Also, remember that the Shell point is 1 point for every 1 litre petrol vs some co like caltex who give 1 point for every dollar spend.

Also, I just realised that now you need 700 (previously I recall is 600)points to exchange for $20 dollar petrol and 1350 (previously I recall is 1000) points for $40 petrol.

Shell ESCAPE redemption is the least attractive amongst all

Let's put the price of pettrol at $1.50 a litre for 95RON.

Shell: 350 points = $10 petrol voucher

1 litre of petrol pumped ($1.50) = 1 point

So you need to spend $525.00 before you can redeem for $10 petrol voucher with Shell

But with Caltex, you get 1 point for every $1 of petrol pumped.

So I need to pump just $300.00 of petrol to redeem for $10 petrol voucher.

For Esso, you get 1 point for every $1.25 of petrol pumped.

You can redeem for $30 petrol voucher with just a mere 750 points

You do your sums and tell me which is more worth it?

Shell [thumbsdown]. Not worth to pump Shell!

Neutral Newbie

Quit using UOB since the smart$ decrease. Citibank dividend straight off 5%. Is there other cards higher than this?
