Modify aircon fan speed

hi, anyone knows about how the aircon fan switch works? probably different resistors for each aircon speed step? has any1 tried to open their control up before? i'm thinking of reducing speed (maybe using higher resistor), but cos haven't done it before, a bit apprehensive.

i ever changed my resistor b4.... there is only one. anyway, my ride is honda.

and i was been told there is no way to change fan speed

huh? u changed ur resistor, but u didn't change fan speed? that means after changing, no effect?

i'm tryng to lower fan speed cos my slowest speed 1 is too fast when weather is good (at night) so if i lower it i can get quieter aircon.

if there are a few speeds, there should be either a few resistors or a potentiometer or something right? or that's not how it works? maybe i can reduce fan power supply voltage? by putting resistor at the fan power input line? but donno if that'll spoil the aircon? make the 12V input into a 6V input, but that's provided i know how big a resistor to put, and what power tolerance ...

U can try to put a dimmer switch (like for your dash lights) in series with the fan switch wiring. U can then set the fan from off to infinity with no set speeds.

But don't run your fan too slow. It might strain the motor if it turns to slow cos it got too little momentum.
