Eclipse1 2nd Gear February 1, 2007 Share February 1, 2007 recently kinda looking at SUV, smaller sized ones though.. Looking at these few models Perodua Kembara, Daihatsu Terios, Suzuki Escudo 3dr, Looking at 4wd with engine cc lesser than 2000c.. Must sit 5 too. besides these few anyone got any other suggestions? Does anyone have info for these and other similar style SUV? wish to hear more opinions.. Cheers. Rav4 was a favourite but only 2.0 and 5dr got 4wd, which too big for my liking.. Pajero 3.5 3dr was the top favourite but road tax and the FC can kill.. ↡ Advertisement

Sgnick 1st Gear February 2, 2007 Share February 2, 2007 Just a thought, any reason why 4WD is important for a Singaporean? Anyway, if u not strictly looking at SUV, can also check out Suzuki SX4.

Quattro Neutral Newbie February 2, 2007 Share February 2, 2007 Hi, U can consider suzuki escudo or toyota rush.....both are quite well built, got a friends just got his escudo.....now on run-in pump 40L run abt 550km...quite good for full-time 4x4 Call me if got any enquiry 90288233
Eclipse1 2nd Gear February 2, 2007 Author Share February 2, 2007 thats sounds good for the Escudo. its rather heavy at 1.4 ton kerb, so if its really running 13+km/l at run-in then it sounds good. Rush is out as its not 4wd. mainly needed 4wd as its part of the hobby of going into mud.. thats why don't need a big cc one.. its mainly for fun and leisure. maybe even OPC As for the Jimny. I once saw it with passengers getting in and with only 2 females in the back seat, its pretty much filled up already. imagine 3 behind then all must be of bamboo shape. hope to see more suggestions/feedbacks anyone knows more of the DVVT kembara ? Elfenstar 3rd Gear February 2, 2007 Share February 2, 2007 (edited) Don't forget the escudo's agent delivered brother the vitara if you want to go offroad. Its 19XXcc so its less than 2l. Its a bit bigger lengthwise, has the 2wd-4wd lock option in addition to the high-low range if you want to go serious bush bashing. Carcraze 1st Gear February 2, 2007 Share February 2, 2007 the Perodua Kembara which is made in malaysia may not be Japanese, but it does have Japanese blood. it's a JBM (japanese born malaysian). It is based on the previous generation of the Daihatsu Terios. It's been on the market for quite sometime already. During it's last facelift, Perodua decided to change to the new Dual-VVT engine from Daihatsu-Toyota. if was priced a tad lower, i think the Kembara would be a good choice. Dunno Neutral Newbie February 2, 2007 Share February 2, 2007 I drive a Rush and I love the car. Got it cos I want a 2WD auto since I don't like mud on my car If you want strictly 4WD, get Terios. Go for the 4WD big wheel version. Sure suit your needs. Escudo seems real under-powered to me.
Carcraze 1st Gear February 2, 2007 Share February 2, 2007 i guess he got no choice? majority of his options are Japanese makes so it's ok to post here. and like i said, Kembara got some Japanese blood. so yea.. ↡ Advertisement
