depend on ur insurance company and how u got that damaged

if you going to claim 3rd party, make sure ur AD do provide such service, if not, have to go to ur insurance co's appointed workshop for assisting...ie they will repair and claim 3rd party for you..

if the one who bangs u had ntuc insurance, you need to have idac assessment to ensure ntuc will pay, and normally ur ins co who do not participate in idac will not pay for your assessement, which boils to the appointed workshop having connection with idac pple and getting them to come down to view damages...

i came to know this today as i was going ard to make my 3rd party claim for my rear bumper [furious]

Well, I'm actually the one at fault, thus I don't intend to claim anything for my car. The thing I need now is a good workshop that can help me fix my car into shape, and of course I will like it to be a cheap & good workshop, which is the core reason why I'm calling for help now. Any recommendations here at all?

how old is ur car?

there always the cheaper mode to go about depending on how serious is your damage...there are workshop tat can soften the plastic and smoothen them out...but the outall results is okay..there might be wrinkled lines and the integrity is lost...

i think there are few workshop which is highly recommeded by the bros here...think bluwork or something...do a search.....

mine 3 month lor...and i got banged by other instead of i banging others..

its like wat u wan then...new car, either u get it done under ur insurance and pay higher premium, if not have it heated and smooth them out....the cost will be very hefty to get them changed to original...

Hi everyone. Thanks for recommending workshops to me & giving me advice on wat to do.

I guess I'll check up the price at the workshops recommended while going back to Suzuki to enquire about the price too, before coming to a decision.

As to how this happened, well ... Just say that I turned a bit too wide in a kind of narrow shopping center carpark, in addition to a short lapse in concentration. & this is wat happened... [sweatdrop]

bro, if u go back to champion motor to replace a new bumper likely cost u 1500-2000

better go for panel beating and re-spray - but always remember to tell the guy are u confident to respray back to original colour otherwise u can tell him u will not pay.

market price for whole bumper re-spray is $150 + maybe another $50 for panel beating.

i have similar encounter as yours 3 month old car hit pillar of car park go for resprary but colour turn out to be abit variation...too tired to fight with them and pay up.

did you hit another car or hit a wall or something?

if you hit another car, and if tat guy claim against you, your premium and NCD will get affected even if you don't claim against yourself. in this case, more worth it to just claim everything la. anyway yours should be comprehensive insurance since its a new car, right?

if you hit the wall, then different story. more worth it to pay out of your pocket. hey, since you need to spend $$$, why dun you take the chance to upgrade bodykit? hehe poison u! [laugh]

I hit another car. I'm trying to settle the issue privately with the other guy. By the way, anything I need to do if I indeed managed to settle the issue privately between ourselves?

As in do I need him to sign anything to ensure that he won't claim against me or anything?

yes of course! you buy things also take receipt right? make sure he acknowledges taking X dollars from you, for wat purpose, and that by accepting the money he is giving up his rights to pursue the matter...something along that line.

how many % of NCD do you have?

If it's 0, then let him claim and also claim for your own. Seems to be much cheaper going by the extent of your damage.

agreed!! if 0% then claim from insurance... they are there for a reason :) else look for 2nd hand parts... i know your swift is only 4 months old, they are 2nd hand parts that is new (frontal accidents where cars get scrapped)...
