Hi Bro,

<< Yo bro, is it alright to set the slope for Sub, F.HPF and R.HPF to 6 instead of 12>>

6 for the front is OK but for SW, the bass will sound a little difuse if you set at 6 if I am not wrong.. You got to listen to the bass if it is strong/powerful or difuse. In my earlier passive setup for P80, I prefer to have the following:

X-OVER..........Front...Rear....SW

Hz.................80......100.....50

Gain level........0.......0.......+3

Slope/dB.........6.......12......12

Why don't you come round tomorrow night at nasi padang. I have not seen you there for a long time liao.

You are right. If set the sub to 6, the bass and soundstage tends to be more wider. If I set to 12, the bass will be more constraint. BTW, I'm still serving my reservist leh...today book out for a while and tonite go back in again..Sianz...3 weeks reservist...but still can go online as my camp Spec mess have internet access.

Hi Philip,

<<If set the sub to 6, the bass and soundstage tends to be more wider. If I set to 12, the bass will be more constraint.>>

BMX normally set to OFF. You can experiment to set BMX to Comp1 with Sub on STEREO (instead of Mono) only to see if there is a change in either soundstage or stage depth and if you like it better.

Yo bro, while changing all to 6, I had also change my sub phase to Norm and Stereo. The sound is much better. But occasionally can feel something behind my sub. My sub is set at -8. Not too strong mah. All my low eq is set to 1 nia.

I think my rear I set my slope back to 12.

Neutral Newbie

The xover freq and slope controls how much high frequency content is filtered OFF the subwoofer output. Assuming your xover freq is 80 or more, at a slope of 6, the sub is playing a lot of high freq content compared to say a slope of 18 or 24. The effect is that you can hear that the bass is coming from behind, which strictly speaking is undesirable as people tends to want that bass-up-front effect. This is difficult but u can try experimenting with xover freq and slope.
