Unfortunately, they can be damage by high (or negative) voltage spikes.

For new pivot...ezstab...no problem.

But used part, hard to tell spoilt. Only owners know. :P

Not exactly sure for less than SGD200, EZ-Stab is giving a serious supercap. Current price is at least USD400 for a piece of 8Farad 20VDC. But its ESR is many times lower than electrolytic capacitor.

But we need probably at least 24VDC to be safe and can it survive the daily temperature changes of 25-90-25 deg C in the engine compartment?

Ezstab make of supercaps.

These are prone to voltage spikes FYI.

from the webby........these supercaps max voltage currently up to 12V only. How's possible to use in the engine bay.......put two in series to make up to 24V? [confused]

Supercaps has much higher current energy than electrolytic ones.......can help lengthen battery life (tats wat the webby says) [nod]

If my car is install with voltage stablies and 6 point grounding. Does installing the EZ-Stab will have any more effect on it? Or since i have voltage stablies.. there is no need to install the EZ-STAB le? Does these two item able to work together?

Perhaps, some understanding of supercapacitor can be found at http://www.avxcorp.com/docs/masterpubs/bestcap.pdf which are mostly in mF.

But they are certainly not cheap at this moment. For less than $200, don't know what EZ-stab has offered. Whether its box can seriously house many farads of over 20VDC supercapacitor, I leave it to your imagination.
