Hi guys, just want to find out more about the above. I was told by the installer after flashing my stock ecu with superchips that I am supposed to pump only Ron 98 petrol. Would there be any adverse effects to the engine if I pump Ron 95? I was told that once I pump 95 petrol to immediately switch to 98 on my next fill.

Just checking to see if anyone using superchips and running on ron 95 petrol? Or do you alternate between 95 and 98?

Thanks

Do as advised by your tuner. Do not run on 95RON.

Unless your tuner has given some margin for lower octane fuel.... you might run into "knocks" which will damage your engine.

You might also want to check with your tuner if provisions have been made to allow you to run 97RON (i.e. Malaysia fuel) for your trips up north. Otherwise, you might have to bring along octane boosters for your malaysian trips.

Thanks. He did tell me that it is ok if I could not find ron98 petrol up in the north. But I should try to switch back as soon as I can find a kiosk with the recommended octane fuel.

Thanks for all the feedback.
