Ehrm actually... From my personal point of view, that is the thing that gives each car maker their character... . Proton cars are nice for recent new models, but it's their company's attitude that is real put off... IF, they were produced by some manufacturer SERIOUS in CAR BUSINESS, without a shadow of a doubt, I would consider a Gen 2 or neo... But too bad... Such cars are produced by NOT SERIOUS manufacturer...

well, they are quite good at 'copying' design from other makers.

 

i would doubt that VW wants to take over a 'dying' business.. but then again, the future are hard to predict also..

they should take off the front grille and fit on a mesh grille, and make the headlights more curvy. What Are the designers for!?!?!? I saw a computer generated render of a car designed by a lotus designer at deviantart.com and it was totally nice! I wonder what they do to these talents

Well it's well known that Proton's power windows breaks down every so often.

 

Also, it's a Proton so what more do we expect... Only expectation is price vs price performance which definately doesn't equate at all.

 

Lastly, the high price might be to off-set the disti's after sales as they know that they'll be forking out a huge amount of money to service and repair the cars sold by them...

 

If 1 fails then it is a lemon, if a whole batch or many batches fails, then it is a lemon plantation! Hahaha...

My family still buy wira bcos it is still overall the cheapest and still has the lancer blood. Insurance is the lowest so it becomes a a to b car and we dun even bother whther we ve got dents on the door. In fact we got it on the 2nd day after collection. I would say many will be embarass to drive one out bcos many ppl have the perception that korean is still better but it really depends on wat model we are comparing. For the wira, I guess we have to compare with the accent.

Yes bro I had the lemon Waja and managed to sell-off before Proton Singapore took over the distribution.

 

Since then, I had drove Ford Focus, Renault Megane and now is Mazda 5. Handling of continental cars are great. Now need mid-size MPV for my growing family and Mazda handling reminds me of my previous Ford Focus.
