Fivegear Clutched January 19, 2007 Share January 19, 2007 Hi, Will be getting my ride next week. Don't really like the Bridgestone tires that come with it. The Agent say cannot change or even top up to get other brand. So am wondering is there a place where they are willing to trade in my nearly brand new tires for another brand/model? ↡ Advertisement

Fivegear Clutched January 20, 2007 Author Share January 20, 2007 I got a quote that allows me to trade in my to-be-receiving new car brand new BS Turanza 205/55/R16 4 pieces to BS GR80 with a top up of $228. Think it is a good deal?

Fivegear Clutched January 20, 2007 Author Share January 20, 2007 Mine currently is 205/55/R16. Forgot to ask is the GR80 comes in the same dimensions though. Any idea is GR80 only comes in one type of dimension for R16?

Fourth 2nd Gear January 20, 2007 Share January 20, 2007 Most shops will be willing to trade. But always do your homework first. Agree on price, then drive there first thing upon receiving yr car. I did that with Soon Tyres.

En0203 2nd Gear January 20, 2007 Share January 20, 2007 (edited) any idea how much would be the cost per tire for Bridgestone RE040 vs Bridgestone GR80 for a 205/50/R17?? Edited January 20, 2007 by En0203
Ronnchee Clutched January 20, 2007 Share January 20, 2007 Bro, you ask the wrong person. You can go to any tyre shop and ask for a quotation. But I think any tyres with 17" rim cost at least $130 above.
En0203 2nd Gear January 20, 2007 Share January 20, 2007 not yet changing so don't wan ask lor.. but the stock BS RE040 wear rate is really
Ronnchee Clutched January 20, 2007 Share January 20, 2007 You must be driving up and down of Malaysia Did you check your alignment ? normal driving, 100km a day, should be ok
En0203 2nd Gear January 20, 2007 Share January 20, 2007 i clocked 5k in less than 4 weeks anyway, i think BS RE040 is supposed to wear quite fast, performance tires mostly don't last long thinking of changing to GR80 next time coz RE040 can be quite noisy at times
Ronnchee Clutched January 20, 2007 Share January 20, 2007 I just changed my 17" rims and tyres in JB. Taiwan rims, Falken tyres, and tyres noise is very minimal. Your milage daily is rather at the high side, you in sales ?
En0203 2nd Gear January 20, 2007 Share January 20, 2007 no lar the mileage was high during the first few weeks only coz i brought the zoom zoom to melacca, muar, kl.. etc didn't know falken tyres are quiet[thumbsup] always heard GR80 and aspec DB when it comes to quietness
Kwh1 Neutral Newbie January 21, 2007 Share January 21, 2007 most tyre shops do it. should get $60 per tyre.
Boogaloo Neutral Newbie January 29, 2007 Share January 29, 2007 U can try calling Comfort Delgro/Stamford/Autobac, though I think both Comfort and Stamford dun trade in new tyres. BTW, I am using Yokohama DB A500 now and must said its not that good. I tried Falken, Bridgestone, Dunlop before. By far, I like Bridgestone most as I personally feel its value for money. My frend drove for more than 20 yrs and said he prefer Michellin/Continental (but continental very ex). BTW, the boss at Stamford Macpherson very friendly and patient. Though he saw my tyres are new, yet he spent almost 1 hour telling me more about tryes and other car maintenance tips! He even go to the extent of helping u to find out if any changes u wanna made will void your agent's w'tty arnot! As you may have seen my postings, please do some research. I was "slaughtered" by Speedway Tyres at Tryewhitt Rd for Yokohama DB A500 at $130 versus Comfort delgro's better ES501 at $105 per tyre. You hv make a right choice by asking all the experts around here (exluding me as I am a "Robert head" to many). Good Luck and Drive Safe Ok! Bless All! ↡ Advertisement
