Ipod or thumbdrive consume more electricity?

feel like putting the ipod but i scared e battery run out faster. i have the thumbdrive option so i am guessing it will be less electricity hungry...

 

any views?

You have nothing to worry about. iPod interface or thumbdrive consumes very little amps compared to high power consumption amplifiers to drive active systems and those users (1xpreamp, 3xSteg Amps - like myself) is using a standard battery to drive my whole setup without fearing of battery not powerful enough or run out faster. FYI, my current battery is coming to 3 years old liao.. and is only a 45AH battery. My setup is shown below:

btw does the ipod need to be on while its connected to the car? sorry if these are stupid questions...

yes and it is not stupid....

 

but maybe you can try it out the next time.

 

connect the ipod and try playing.... if it does then turn it off and see if it still plays....
