Where to buy cable hunter or bitumen sheets?

can pls someone recommend a workshop/person where i can get "cable hunter" or similar bitumen sheets (with aluminium backing) at a good price? i need about 2m by 1m for some DIY soundproofing.

Bitumen sheets?? I thought they are quite toxic!

He sells 5mx1mx15mm @ $130.

 

Installed them in my ride. Works good, esp for sticking doors/rooftops. Worth the price I paid.

 

I'm not sure if he can hook up anyone with you on smaller sizes to spare.

i heard of this thick bitumen sheet. is this the one? 15mm thick? wow. i can build a road to my house with it, yay!

I think he missed out a decimal point.... more like 1.5mm in thickness. :)

I'm also looking for Cable Hunter sheets. Are the Bitumen sheets heavy? I don't want to add more weight to my car as I've already done 1 layer of SP on 4 doors.

 

Hmm...maybe we can share the 5m x 1m sheets? You take 2m, I take 3m

iirc u can get a quarter roll from him if u want , he does sell them broken up in quarter / half and full roll

Thanks, I just bought 2.5m from Mav at $60. On 2nd thoughts, not sure if it's enough as he suggested that I do double layer over my existing SP. May get another 2.5m from him this Sat. BTW, he has run out of readily cut stock and only has time to cut them into 2.5/5m bundles this Saturday morning.

You need to open the door panel to diy SP.

It is normally held together with screws, bolts, clips.

You also have to disconnect door hooks and electrical connections.

It's quite a bit of work to remove the door panel the first time, but after that experience you can work faster.

Also you might encounter broken plastic clips and need to get replacement.
