I was told that it is always prudent to get a transformer with a bit higher power rating. I could be wrong, 500W might be sufficient for your PC. My numbers (750W) is based on other heavy duty tools (a DeWalt power drill & a saw) that I'm currently using. Sometime I asked myself if it's worth buying tools running on different voltage as the transformer is heavy and inconvenient...but that's just my take. Others could put up with the inconvenience, not to mentioned the extra cost! [rolleyes]

Any review on Poorboy's SSR range?

What makes a good polish to me would be, it cuts/cleans, breaks down easily and doesn't cause much dusting/powdery residue [:p]

Just purchased quite alot of products from detailogy amounting to $670! First thing I tried was the PC with Optimum Compound. Managed to get the swirls and marks off. Well not 100%, say 70-80% but thats great enuf.. First time seeing my ride so "flawless". Proceeded on with PC with Optimum Polish, read from the instructions that is muz be followed after using compound, to reduce the finer swirls and hazing caused by compound. Rather satisfied I muz say, for a PC newbie like me. After the defects removal steps applied the FK2180 Polymer Sealant. Kinda sceptical at first.. becoz didnt really heard of it, but the results turns out brilliant! Futher amazement comes when I tried the High Temp Paste wax. 2 words = Real Slick.

Still have some other products yet to be experimented. Will update once got results.

P.S The transformer for Porter Cable can be purchased from any Homefix DIY for $80 (500W).

Hi there,

I'm sorry to dig up such an old thread [:p] Recently got myself a 7424 and realized that during operation, the machine heats up and produces a fair bit of smoke with a funky smell [laugh] Quite scary imo..

Wonder if the smoke is normal.. Don't wish to risk burning my new toy as yet [laugh]

Btw I'm on a transformer rated at 400W. Appreciate if users of the PC can comment. [:)]
