Need Help on RSM Settings for Corolla G9

Guys,

Can you help me with the RSM settings for G9? My current setting is 107% for SP ADJ so that the speedometer is in synch. However, I find that my trip meter also increases by 7% on the RSM. When I change ADJ back to 100%, the tripmeter is OK but speed is not in synch to the speedometer.

The rest of the settings should be as the one below right?

SP1 - 4P

ADJ - 107%

SLC - 180km/h

TIRE - 100%

BTW I am on 205/45/R17 tyres.

Thanks!

The SLC at 180km/h might not be effective. I suspect the RSM cannot react fact enough to "trick" the ecu when the car hits 180km/h and the ecu cuts out.

With mine set at 170km/h, I've gone over 200km/h. When I tried setting it at 180km/h...the SLC still kicked in. Can't say for certain that it will be the case for your G9...you have to check yourself.

Hi,

Thanks for your comments. What car do you drive btw? Secondly, how do you know SLC cut in?

Honda Accord EuroR.

When the SLC kicks in, effectively fuel is cut-off momentarily to bring the speed down. You will feel a slight jerk (hesitation)...like you momentarily stab at the brakes dizzy.gif. The first time when it happens, you instinctly let off the gas pedal anyway. That effectively brings the speed down.

Its been noted that 160 and 170 km/h works to negate the SLC but 180km/h so far it appears the car's ecu will kick in the SLC before the RSM can fake the signal.

When it once cut in, my companion thought I had spotted a police car and had deliberately let off the throttle and hit the brakes. This is really momentary, about 1-2 secs maybe.

Unfortunately no. As confirmed by some bros here, my G9 do not have a speed cut - so no need for RSM or any kinda of speed limiter. As for the ADJ setting of 107%, guess have to do it so that my speedometer and the RSM is in synch. My RSM tripmeter shows 7% more than my speedometer so just live with it, for now :)

G9 has no speed limiter.. I have taken this car up to 210km on NS Highway.

save the money...

I think it is a better option to sync the speedomter than tripmeter. BTW it is a cool gadget to have in your car cockpit. I am planning to install one in my G9 too. Where and how much does it cost, did you install the G-sensor and is it necessary??

Yup you're right, there's no speed limiter. Guess mine is limited by my rims and tyres. But keeping the RSM, for now as its a cool gadget to have and can measure some important info after mods. One interesting thing I noticed and confirmed is that I get better timings when aircon is off. Aircon off/on do not matter much in achieving max speed.

So how on the exhaust? Now hands very itchy liao!
