Friendstar Supercharged January 7, 2007 Share January 7, 2007 I tell u, i own a picnic.... i tested both cars, wish and new carens... carens is very very near to my picnic in terms of refinement and everything else. handling carens is better. In fact, carens has a heavy body similar to Picnic. thats why both FC are not as good as that of Wish. If any bros out here have been dreaming to buy an affordable picnic, carens is the one. However, if u'r just another paranoid dude who feels that FC=everything, then wish is better
Joneses Neutral Newbie January 7, 2007 Share January 7, 2007 wish is 2006 most popular MPV by far leh.. beating all other MPVs combined (i think) between the two, i would pick wish for the FC and the availability of parts as well as a boyant resale market.. Joneses Neutral Newbie January 7, 2007 Share January 7, 2007 picnic comparable to carens? i was of the opinion that picnic has alot more space compared to carens, esp with the extra space plus hidden compartment in the rear i believe picnic's airconed 3rd row can also comfortably accomodate 2 full-size adults.. not sure about carens tho.. Carmaniac Neutral Newbie January 7, 2007 Share January 7, 2007 i think wish would be better. My father drives a wish and in terms of performance, it is already quite good for a 1.8liter car.. As for space, the last row is for kids and if adults want to seat there, they will have to 'pek'. As for fc, as you have said, wish consumes less fuel. And I think since Wish is released for quite a period liao so those problems should have been fixed? Carens is new model and might have some problems that are not yet corrected.. If you want to buy any one of them, I suggest you to go for Wish, with all those accessories like sunroof and bodykit.. my father got so little accessories and he paid a a little more compared to another friend of his who bought the same car at around the same time.. but from different PI

Vicz Neutral Newbie January 7, 2007 Share January 7, 2007 Bro, you may not want to stereo-type... the koreans are getting better nowadays. This Carens is not the same. Sorry but I beg to differ. This definitely handles better than Wish.

I read Straits Times yesterday and it said something like ' new carens offer slightly more oomph than wish'. I just want to verify this. Vit4wd 1st Gear January 7, 2007 Author Share January 7, 2007 Corolla is a saloon, Wish is a MPV - totally different. We are comparing 2 different MPVs here - Wish and Carens.
Hattee Neutral Newbie January 7, 2007 Share January 7, 2007 (edited) Perhaps, another way to look at them might be those already on the road for more than 3 years. If my drive with in-law 03 Wish and my colleague 03 Carens are representative, the Jap model is surprising no less noisy and rough as the Korean make. But Carens still has better comfort feel beyond 90kph which might exhibit the impression of roughness with Wish when pushed. On hindsight, could it be the deterioration of VVTi self-learning (i=selflearning) when sensors cannot tell the exact truth when not in new conditions. Afterall, most fixed closed-loop design will also not be spared eventually. Could it be worst off for VVTi if it is not a gimmick in the first place. Quote i think wish would be better. Vit4wd 1st Gear January 7, 2007 Author Share January 7, 2007 (edited) The Kia Carens brochure reads: Rides like an MPV. Looks like an SUV. We call it a CUV. What does CUV stand for? Edited January 7, 2007 by Vit4wd
Mubarakrashid Neutral Newbie January 7, 2007 Share January 7, 2007 "What does CUV stand for?" is this a contest or what? brochure already stated what it means... ↡ Advertisement
