My car lor. 100km/h @ 2000rpm [:)]

5 speed auto.

Does it matter?? It depends on the final gear ratio of your gearbox.

It more quiet and smooth compare to higher rpms I guess. Better FC?

That's all I could think of.

let try to remember mine.. vios, auto...

~2.0 K rpm for normal @80km/h

~2.5 K rpm for normal @100km/h

~3.0 K rpm for normal @120km/h

~3.5 K rpm for normal @140km/h

~4.0 K rpm for normal @160km/h

~4.4 K rpm for normal @170km/h

~4.7 K rpm for normal @180km/h (after some distance of dragging with 160/170km/h....)

[:p]

btw, if u ask is there any cars that can run 100km/h with 2K rpm, if my memory not failing me, when i was in states driving a ford mustang, it did cruise at around 2K rpm only with a speed of ~60mph..... [sly]

My Odyssey (RA8)

100km/h @ just under 2000rpm

110km/h @ 2000rpm

130km/h @ 2500rpm

.....

180km/h reads a little over 4000rpm.

As its JDM, even without speedcut, meter only reads upto 180, but at top speed, rpm reads ard 5300.

As for Legacy GT,

90kmh @ 2000rpm

110km/h @ 2500rpm

140km/h @ 3300rpm

160km/h @ 4000rpm

200km/h @ 4800rpm

240km/h @ 5500rpm

260km/h @ 6200rpm (Max liao!)

that's not the only factor...

the RS4 (as reported by ST) runs at 2600rpm at 100kmh

so this whole thread is rather pointless... and mine is a useless contribution

Performance car will definitely be different as they have a higher redline rpm.

I'm talking about normal NA cars. RS4 is force induced right?

i'm the champion so far!!!

100km/h @ 3000 rpm [sweatdrop][sweatdrop][sweatdrop][shakehead]

small engine bor pian [laugh]

the bigger the engine, the more torque. hence the higher the top gear can be without straining the engine. [scholar] however, i believe this rule may be bent for close ratio gearbox or better pickup but sacrifiing FC and maybe top speed.

think the RS4 runs at much less than 2000rpm at 100kmh.

2600rpm probably looking at 100mph more like it.

im running 1900rpm at 100kmh

to the thread starter.

anyway, there is no 'fixed' rpm for 'fixed' speed as a rule of thumb.

your RPM with respect to speed varies with:

(a) gear ratios

(b) final drive ratio

this is most commonly translated to kmh/mph per RPM in a comprehensive car review like Autocar Magazine.

the kmh/mph per RPM will also be given for each gear of the car and be displayed as a graph usually.

if youre running CVT the ratios are variable. unless the programming makes the CVT act like a fixed ratio convetional gearbox you cant do the same measurements on it.

hope this helps

The new 4.3 Rav 4 2.4l runs 100km/h at 1500rpm. Believe it or not :)

I'm driving this make and would say it's ard 1700rpm or so hence very fuel economical!
