Watwheels Supersonic January 3, 2007 Share January 3, 2007 I had tried both Esso and Shell. Somehow Shell gives better mileage. I drive 1.8FD btw. Others did not try cos company cover fuel expenses for these 2 companies.

Miketow Neutral Newbie January 10, 2007 Share January 10, 2007 Input please from those who have tested the different brand of ron98. Please exclude V-Power and Caltex Platinum. I present the power of slick marketing of a homogenous product! Look at its effect on people!
Twinrongs Neutral Newbie January 10, 2007 Share January 10, 2007 I've tried Caltex, Shell and SPC. Shell98 gave the best FC on my 1.8 Civic FD(A) and SPC the worst, although the difference is only 0.5km/L (70%highway, 30%city). Haven't tried Esso as they are always the "Joker" to fool around with price increases , so boycotting them .
Kklee 6th Gear January 10, 2007 Author Share January 10, 2007 Seems to me Civic 1.8 FD likes Shell98.... trying to establish a trend, if there is one! My comparison between Shell98 and SPC98, SPC doesn't seem to work for me too. I'm back to Caltex Silver for the moment but would probably try Caltex Gold for my next tank and monitor the progress. Genie47 1st Gear January 10, 2007 Share January 10, 2007 If big oil made petrol like Apple Inc's products with their kind of marketing, it will be hypnotic! ↡ Advertisement
