Cubic printing of interior handles

Hi all,

Some of us have appointed Jackson Vehicle to cubic print the door handles, in view of the peeling soft wax layer. After the handle covers are removed, it is still possible to close the doors. However, please take special care when closing the driver's door. It is recommended to close the door using the edge of the door pocket.

Caution Do NOT pull the driver's door at the usual driver's side handle location. The black plastic frame that allows the handle cover to be attached will snap if you pull it.

Some pictures to show how the doors look like after the door handle covers are removed.

Cubic printing is the permanent solution to peeling wax layer on the door handles of the Superb and probably the A5 Octavia II. Most of the $ paid to Jackson Vehicle goes to labour.

A rough summary of the work:

- Sanding of the original surface

- Application of plastic primer onto the panels

- Drying in the oven

- Application of the first layer of base paint

- Drying in the oven

- Transfer of cubic print onto the painted surface

- Drying

- Coating the surface with a choiee of matte/glossy lacquer

- Baking in the oven

The lacquer layer protects the prints from being damaged. It is also more resistant to scratches and scuffs compared to the original finishing.

I am happy with my handles too, mine is matt black so it is different from the Koolaba and Fisheye's, but honestly the ones that Koolaba selected looks much better, mine looks like current ones except that it is not a rubber overspray.

Wishing all a Happy 2007!
