It is definitely worth the buy... COE $101 car, low depreiciate... However, do worry about the fuel consumption. The fuel consumption is not really that wonderful for that car. Last but not least, don't forget about the mantainance cost. Send it for inspection @ VICOM before buying. Be wise with your money! [thumbsup]

Cool Ride for choosing a Lancer!

bro, i've driven that model before (rental).. is that CVT ?

at high speeds the car is stable.. but steering tends to vibrate.. can be improved though.. if its CVT, very laggy in response..

spacious for the rear passengers as compared to other 1.6L cars..

as for FC, from full tank to less than half tank, can last long.. but once it drops below the half tank marking, it'll drop very fast.. guess its due to the tank's shape..

should get around 10 - 11km/L

As someone has advised, negotiate the price downwards nearer to the paper value. This is a family sedan not a chiong car so CVT is ok. If you are a dragster, then I will suggest that you do not waste any more time. As long as you do not possess the "first-one-off-the-traffic-light" syndrome, this car should return you a decent FC of about 12km/l and possibly more (I've achieved 14km/l). Repairs are affordable and I can always recommend you to my mechanic whom other Lancer drivers also go to.

Good luck!

Hi GABJEN, I used to own this model and same year of registration before getting the new Lancer. I noticed that this car has 2 owners and though it's common nowadays to see cars being sold within a short period of usage, it's good to check with the seller for the answer.

To find the current market value of the car, you could get into LTA website to find out. From LTA's information, you would be in a better position to negotiate with the seller.

Send the car for a comprehensive inspection by either your mechanic or IDAC for any incidences or problems, etc, before committing. If I can recall, the original tyre size is 185x65x14. If you are concern about the fuel consumption, it's advisable to stick to the original. Remember that any broadening of tyres would increase fuel consumption.

The Lancer costs an extra $5K but it is 9 yrs old compared with the 18 yr old Civic.

Lancer insurance premium is also lower, being a 4 dr saloon.

The Civic has too many modifications and its history would be harder to trace.

The Lancer is using the same SOHC engine as the current Lancer GLX, so spare parts is not an issue.

Lancer is the obvious choice.
