User-upgradeable firmware for cars

Wonder when will that day come when we can upgrade our car's firmware to improve performance FOC, just like our handphones ?

 

Machiam like tweaking Windows registry, any change in parameters will have different results.

Clutchless gearbox out of order coz of software malfunction.. and got to call agent to come with Tech II and reload software...

 

Gear change can be re-program with different set of parameters and create a false sense of power increase..

Solution: Rip out the car's OEM ECU and use the Megasquirt ECU. Most likely with Megasquirt Sparks and what have you. Less than USD400 can get.
