Eagle F1-GS-D3 or Firenza St-03???

Hi I need advice wheather to use (Thai)Eagle F1 or Firenza St-03

for my ride both are same size: 215/45/17

 

Which would be better wan and why?

But the Thai's F1 seems to have a different compound to the German made variant that's highly praised by most reviews.

 

Have not used them, so will reserve comments.

 

I'm happy with Dunlop Sports Maxx and Toyo T1R.

think u compare wrongly liao... cost wise F1 will be higher... performance... no fight at all. I'm on ST03... DUN GET IT unless u'r looking for quiet n good dry onli grip tyres. In fact, for choice of tyre... it depend alot on ur driving style.

 

Track style - Eagle F1, Yokohama AD07

Normal no rush style but wan occasional speeding - Dunlop DZ101

Reasonable price n good: Hankook (Korea)

Cheap n Good: Federal (Taiwan)

 

i'm no expert...yet to try all. Above r wat i've learned and gathered over the past yrs.

 

my final advise is dun get ST 03(Dry is nt bad, wet is )... if u'r looking at cheaper option, try Federal tyre. PM mi if u ned the add. i'm not affiliated with them but juz tryin to share sm good lobangs.

bro, get F1, am currently on ST-03 same spec as you.

beginning it is ok, quiet and not a bad performer,

after 20k, it is noisy and during wet weather, the grip is so bad that got to stick to lane 3 and the side wall is getting softer, got feeling of car slipping during cornering.

will be changing to F1 soon.

By the way i believe most of the tyres in any brands or models, after sometime will

get noisy, so I think better to be safe in wet weather then nosie level...

I'm on Thai F1, wet is really good, but dry y is only avg, and also when you are in those smooth carparks floors the traction is really poor. Have you ever been to IMM multistorey carpark? when raining har, turning right to go up the floors my car will even skid!

 

I'll probably try other brands next eg federal ss595,hankook rs-2 next...

 

oh and did i mention that it screechs like hell?

I have the same feeling here, have to be careful with these Thai F1 on smooth carpark surface and strange steering feel when turning. Not sure if the Germans are much better in this aspect?

 

But for the price, cannot complaint too much!

did you notice that when doing high speed turns eg at 100 or so you wil feel like the tyres going give way? i think it maybe due to it's soft side wall...

ma-z1 corrects these flaws..check out its design is a bit diff from f1

I am driving with the F1, really good grip with the corner and wet weather, but the noise level is a bit too high after a while, so good and bad. Pricing is average, reasonable cheap.

U might as well try Hankook other range tyre if u looking for value rather going for lower brand tyre.As i know beside RS2 they hv at least 5-6 model fr the size u request. i m sure there is one model that will suit u best n needs.

I am using GY Eagle F1 GSD3 and drive like a Beng. German made.

 

'cheap' and reasonable tyre. Like everything except getting noisier after 7k km and dry grip is ok but as bros said the sidewalls seem soft, a bit too soft for high speed cornering.

Yes, I had the similar experience; my feeling is not 'like tyres going to give way' but a sundden 'jerk' or slippage. I've increased the pressure by 1psi and the problem seemed to have gone; but the same happened yesterday when I was going round a bend and at the same time trying to switch lane.

 

I need to re-check the tyre pressure and maybe further increase tyre pressure to experiment it.

 

I have also noted in Goodyear.com.sg website, they recommended 36psi which is much higher than my car's recommendation of 32psi.
