Ahbengdriver 6th Gear December 14, 2006 Share December 14, 2006 It is a world of difference compared to my previous Sunny. When doing the NSH in my Sunny, I have problem overtaking those damn express buses if I'm already at 120kmh. Those buses normally do around 120-130kmh. The car just won't pickup fast enough to do that or rather it just doesn't have the kick to do that, even if you floor the pedal. The sunny need a long distance of picking up speed if you need to overtake those express bus. With the Octy, I can stay behind the bus to match its speed @ 120-130kmh & still have enough juice to overtake should I feel like it. I don't even need to floor the pedal. that is why for people drive up north. In SG, dont need a quick powerful car..which is true. But once u go further or drive up genting, u will know why cars hv much bigger CC compared to SG cars. In fact some of the small cc cars we have here are not even sold in some countries for the same model. ↡ Advertisement

Try_conti 2nd Gear December 14, 2006 Author Share December 14, 2006 Engine sounds normal to me. Anyway, I have a bonnet insulator installed, so not so bad. As to wind noise, yes, above 90kmh can hear already. But with stereo playing & engine note, wind noise is no big deal .... By the way, mine is the Octy Tour aka Octy A4. The A5 may have better insulation. Road noise is alright with the CSC provided. Just don't pump it too hard. As long as you follow pressure recommendation of 200/220 (front/rear), its quite comfortable.

Minicop Neutral Newbie December 14, 2006 Share December 14, 2006 Pass by BMW still normal at 250KM/h. Wait till you try German Autoban. I was in my friend car driving at 250KM/h, was pass by a BMW god know at what speed. It was so fast by the time I notice it is too far away to tell what is the model. Soleution Neutral Newbie December 14, 2006 Share December 14, 2006 Nissan Sunny aka Nissan Sentra in Malaysia, do not have 1.6, only 1.8 if I not wrong, most of the model in Malaysia is higher cc than us in SG
Soleution Neutral Newbie December 14, 2006 Share December 14, 2006 No lah, original stock, Superb can reach 270km/h according to the speedometer, and the misleading part, ahem....after the 110km/h, no 120km/h, the next gap is 150km/h, so tend to travel 150km/h above during trip up North. Initially think there will be a speed cut at 180km/h as normal Jap car, so give it a try to reach 180km/h, still can go, so go all the way since the SDR BMW is pushing at my back... Soleution Neutral Newbie December 14, 2006 Share December 14, 2006 You are right bro, was in a friend BMW at Autoban, Ferrai don't know what model speed by, cannot even see the tail after 3 sec!!!
Minicop Neutral Newbie December 14, 2006 Share December 14, 2006 Yes, it is really dangerous. I tried it in German Autoban, max out a rented Ferrari. It is not fun at all driving at that speed. Everything look just like a dot in front of you.
Lamy Neutral Newbie December 14, 2006 Share December 14, 2006 Did you max out? or still can push more. The 270km/h limit on speedo is not an indication of a car max speed unfortunately. Cheers for your info share. Lamy
Soleution Neutral Newbie December 15, 2006 Share December 15, 2006 Think still can push some more, should be able to hit 250km/h, but the steering start to vibrate slightly when at 220km/h, so give it a miss...
Lamy Neutral Newbie December 15, 2006 Share December 15, 2006 Thanks for sharing. If you go NSH very often it would be good to do high speed balancing might remove vibration at high speeds. Lamy ↡ Advertisement
