I think now with police using lasers no point having radar detector. Don't work on laser traps.

SGP uses laser at the infrared range. 980nm beam cannot be detected by those K or X band radar detector. dont waste ur money.

doubt it will be accurate although there are some in the market now.

 

why? bcos laser beam throw a coherent beam over a decent distance without spreading. hence any laser beam detector will have to

1. be line of sight of the laser emitter. TP can be hidding in all 4 direction.

2. detect the beam prior to the beam landing on the moving car surface to give early warning.

dont waste ur $. remember the line-of-sight for laser beam to bounce off ur car? slow down ur car is cheaper.

 

besides, if the cop cant get a reading on ur car speed, all he has to do is to write down ur number and summon u later.

Anyway, its not exp to build a laser dazzler, in fact some folks in US are using it against mil aircrafts / devices using green laser pointer. faintz

RF (radio frequency) or Radar detectors are passive. In theory, they are able to pick up a radar signal at twice the distance of the transmitter. you should be able to slow down before the transmitter can effectively detect and measure your doppler speed.

 

But it is not worth having one.

Firstly, in Spore if you use and get caught....

Secondly, our neighbours most of the time dun use radar detectors. They use mark 2 eyeball to pull over vehicles with "SXX" registrations.

If Nokia hp can really detect, all other brands / makes should be able to . Wonder any brothers know of this???
