Dear ICE gurus, have a question to ask on behalf of a friend who is planning on installing a PC with GPS into his car.

His car's sound system currently comprises simply of a Blaupunkt DAB HU and stock speakers. Would it be possible for the system to be wired up such that he would be able to listen to both sources (HU and PC) at the same time? If it is, what would be required? He basically wants to be able to listen to cds/radio from the HU while getting driving directions from the GPS system at the same time.

If the above is not possible or practical for any reason, kindly suggest any alternative methods he could use instead?

Thanks in advance [;)]

What is his Blaupunkt HU modeal. From what I know, some Blaupunkt HU has "Navigational" mix mode, i.e. exactly what your friend intends to do - listen to music but at the same time hear driving directions. Singapore roads so complicated meh... [hur][hur][hur]

Oh...ok [laugh]

I think it is possible based on this:

Woodstock DAB52 other features (extracted):

Mute facility can be manually selected, or automatically activated by hands free phone call or navigation announcement (if fitted). Mute volume level is adjustable

Car telephone (or navigation announcement, if fitted) can be played through radio's amplifier and speakers

Hope this helps.
