Which is a better buy in terms of minimal loss should you decide to sell after a short while, say 1 to 3 years ?

get the 05 model . even thought both engine is the same. the 01 model is coming to 6 yrs already. let say if you plan to change new car, you not able to fetch a good price compare to 05 model .

if getting 01 model . just driving for another 4 yr , you might need to renew coe which might cost you additional 15k .

dont get the 01 lancer. the paper value is really low with COE at $101. If you wanna to consider the Jan 05 Lancer at 42K, you might wanna consider buying my Oct 04 lancer at around 39k which i m considering changing. pm me if you are interested.

The "Old" 2001 Lancer is sold on the very day is was advertised, but the "New" 2005 Lancer is still awaiting a new buyer.

 

Mid 2001 cars with $101 COE are a good catch now as most dealers area selling them at paper value plus body value and a few $K mark up, that's all.

 

Good buy for those who change cars often - both cars annual dep may be close but there's minimal loss when you sell the 2001 Lancer.
