Pool100 1st Gear November 28, 2006 Share November 28, 2006 (edited) Hi bros, don't know if you encounter this problem... I'm using P6850 now and when playing MP3s from MP3 disc... sometimes music will skip... but haven't encountered this problem with music discs... only self burnt MP3 discs... Very irrititating and made me very frustrated to have this after spending so much on ICE... Can anyone help or provide any solutions? Coolbreeze90 Neutral Newbie November 29, 2006 Share November 29, 2006 eh....burn at a slower speed.
Pool100 1st Gear November 29, 2006 Author Share November 29, 2006 I heard about this burning at slower speed thing... does it really work? or is it just another hear-say kinda thing?
Kwongwing Neutral Newbie November 29, 2006 Share November 29, 2006 To get "good" quality sound from a CD-R, burn at 8x or slower.
Coolbreeze90 Neutral Newbie November 29, 2006 Share November 29, 2006 No reason to bluff you but through couple of cd-r, cd-rw and originals, it has been proven. But if you are really into ICE, you would know that burning MP3 into a cd-r will definitely not give you the quality of an original.... A little stating the obvious but then.... *knock my own head* If your cd is burnt at a "slow" speed liao then might be the player dirty or cd dirty or maybe just the lens need to change... A lot of possibilities....
Wbucket Clutched November 29, 2006 Share November 29, 2006 Try it to prove it otherwise, what have you got to lose?
Law_ong Neutral Newbie November 29, 2006 Share November 29, 2006 i second coolbreeze advice...its not hear-say and it can be proven by those gadgety forumer to explain to you in detail...my laymen understanding is that your system is not able to pick up/read the highspd burning thus it keep skipping and pick up whatever bytes they able to read when the cdrom is spinning..think is becoz the highspd burning pack the bytes closely or something like tat... Pool100 1st Gear November 29, 2006 Author Share November 29, 2006 Hehe... thanks bros... will try it out. I asked that because that MP3 disc didn't skip on my stock player... but started skipping after I installed the 6850... so that's why wanted to ascertain whether it's the disc or player's fault... Coolbreeze90 Neutral Newbie November 29, 2006 Share November 29, 2006 you have to take into consideration of the difference in specs of your stock and new hu... Maybe one need more power?? or maybe your new hu has lesser sampling rate or bit rate. if you really want to learn more, just ask ard or can just meet us at our weekly meet up. you are most welcome to join us... but think this issue has been discussed before. Not meant to be offensive but probably can search through the previous post first. Pls dun take it the wrong way. heehee

Pool100 1st Gear November 29, 2006 Author Share November 29, 2006 actually I tried using the Search button to find similar posts but returned only a few unrelated posts... that's why I started this thread... anyway, I'll take all your advice and try 1) different convertor (MP3 instead of WMA) 2) Lower burning speed 3) Higher bitrate... Hopefully will return better results

Ixiz Clutched November 29, 2006 Share November 29, 2006 Sometimes the CDR also play a part which i discover after experimenting with different CRD. For my case it's ironical. My is using a Sony HU . But when i used Sony CDR to play audio . The disc would always skipped at around track 8 and above..Or would not play at all. The after switching with a few CDR . Currently using verbatim Gold. So far no problem. Sometimes i heard also the colour 'dye' on the CDR plays a part as well. That's why there's some which are gold, silver , blue or green. (Black even) . WEach colour is good for some purpose. Like Data, movie , audio , longer lasting etc . But definately burning at a lower speed does help . just a few min more anyway.
