Regarding Nissan Sunny

Sunny is Nissan's most long life span model, same time Toyota G9, Honda Civic ES, Mazda 323 etc all were out of picture already [lipsrsealed]

looks very big (wheelbase 2600mm), but legroom very small, why? where is th space to go?[confused]

top roof sound proofing vary bad, why? [confused]

the boot? Could be the design of the front seats also. Put in the Latio front seats, suddenly the rear appears more spacious.

Take out the roof liner .... no SP at all ... roof soundproofing can DIY ... no big deal.

As for why its still around; cheap to make, good to sell, dealer still make around 8-10k per car sold. Made in Japan, 4door with boot, looks big, reliable engine and drive train, cheap to service(outside). Fits the SG market perfectly.

Neutral Newbie

well said, its the design of the front seats really, notice the latio's back of the front seats curve alot more, thus the extra legroom.

Sitting arrangement.

Sunny: More 'relaxed' and abit more like slanting..

Latio: More straightened sitting posture, this explains the more legroom. =)

Roof? Sunny quite well sound proofed except for roof ba?

The sunny oso does not have much power as compared to altis and it gets realli noisy when it rains heavily but one thing good is that it's handling is super compared to the other cars i have driven like altis... btw i am driving a sunny..

cheers [flowerface]

The reason is clear...simple basic budget car plus there's a demand for it.

Ppl in sg continue to support the car .... manufacturer happy, so continue to make more lah. So simple.

Why legroom small? U said it yourself...the design so long ago not like today got what front seats with scalop back for more kneeroom...rear flat floor etc.

Last time sound proof material expensive mah. Why now still dun have? Japan labour cost high mah! Cut cost what. [:p]

maybe got more direct steering feel ... less body roll ... less "floaty" feeling at high speeds ...

one bad point about the sunny is its rear where there don't seems to be much travel in the rear suspension.

the sunny had a pretty timeless design ... after more than a decade, still looks pretty good.

I've sat and driven my friend's altis. Pickup was alright, but mid torque, trying to push car from 50kph to 90kph was like so slow.. COmfort, Sunny definitely better, Altis is [hur] noisy.. -.-

True that the Sunny handles well cos the body is relatively lower that other models like G9 or 323.

Moreover, it is also heavier in weight.

The current Sunny was supposed to come with 1.8L engines which is designed to give better performance.sly.gif

Another thing, don't really like the rear drum brake design.

don't expect Nissan can give you rear disc brake lah, Nissan is the most stingy for rear disc brake [thumbsdown], imagine even 2.0L Sylphy still is rear drum brake, how can 1.6L is disc brake [laugh]

but Malysia Sunny (they named 'Sentra..' or what, don't know exactly spelling) is an exception, it is rear disc brake, don't know it is orginal one or modified by themselve [confused]

Actually, Sunny's design is for high speed cruising, hence the heavier steering and better pick up from 60km/h onwards.

Stability at speeds above 100km/h is also a plus point.

agree! this why some bros declared Sunny(M) can hit 190km/h above on NSH [sweatdrop]

it is a miracle for a 1.6L sedan w/o modification [thumbsup]
