Bravo is one beautiful car. I wish i could own one myself but already happy with my Impreza 08 Hatchback.

Beside, i always bio my neighbour's Bravo OPC at carpark whenever i walk or drive past more than my Impreza [laugh]

Sorry guys, is there any difference between T-jet and Dynamic? I'm getting confused with all the different names for the bravo... some say the dynamic is crap, some don't like the T-jet... are they the same car and all turbo charged?

Dynamic = the trim (equipment). I believe all the Bravo imported are with Dynamic trim.

T-Jet = Fiat's name for the 1.4 Turbo engine, comes with 2 power level: 120HP for duologic("auto") and 150HP for manual.

Used to have a NA 1.4 model which I am not sure whether they are still selling that.

Well i guess so far no replies either implies that this car has more negative & cons over positive & pros which nobody wanna talk abt it, or theres simply too few bravo owners & mostly r of quiet character. [rifle]

There are workshops that specialised in Fiats and servicing cost is around the same as a jap/korean cars.

2) Wats the insurance premium like for this TC car? (Am 31 yo this year wif 40% ncd)

Expect to pay about 1.4k +/-

3) Any serious problem which really needs to be highlighted for this car?

Car air con, automatically switches to the ventilation mode whether u like it or not. so if a rubbish truck happens to be in front of u and the air con switch to ventilation mode...heh heh...

4) Any other details which u guys think needs to be highlighted, do appreciate them too.

You can read more at the local fiat forum.

Bravo is a size larger than Grande Punto...

Bravo comes with both semi-auto and manual versions...all in dynamic trims...

Fiat semi-auto is a manual without clutch, so you'll have to match the relevant revs for smooth gearchange, unlike the DSG in VW...so most of the time, you'll jerk like crazy in such cars...

the semi-auto is 1.4turbo 120bhp while the manual is 1.4turbo 150bhp...

there is a T-Jet model 1.4turbo 185bhp...it's actually a tuned ECU from the 150bhp version...

the interior quality though plasticky, is really well assembled...and i think the look is way better than the Golf, inside and out...

but pricewise, being so close to the Golf, it just doesn't appeal...

I am am owner of the Fiat Bravo 1.4 Dynamic which is the 120hp version. I cannot compare with Japanese hatches as I have never owned one. I have driven typically European family saloons ranging from Peugeot 406, Ford Focus, Ford Mondeo etc. What I can tell you is the car is damm fun to drive.

There are a few reviews out there on the web. One review which I really like is Jeremy Clarkson's of Top Gear. He liked the car. I did as well. You can read it

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/driving/j...icle2642403.ece

I did a few test drives of various cars

Renault Megane saloon

Ford Fiesta

Peugeot 207 vive

Peugeot 308

Fiat Punto

I can tell you that only Fiat Bravo engages me. Steering is light (maybe too light for some), but the way it can race around and poke into different corners is very vivacious and you really can feel the italian brio. The engine note is also very good in my opinion. Interior wise, the car has a very interesting red glow and comes with nice touches like frosted glass interior lights etc. You can also order it with two tone leather that can be matched with the exterior like racing seats

Admittedly I have not test driven a VW Golf so am not able to comment. I think there are loads of VW golf around and personally I like the individuality that the Bravo confers. Not too many around.

My two cents.

I have tested the Bravo 1.4 auto also and like the drive and interior a lot although a bit wasted tat it is only 120 bhp compared to the manual version which is 160 bhp. another draw back is that the cabin space ain't that great but overall still a good car to own..

I tested the Bravo and i didnt quite like the drive. Maybe there was something wrong with the auto gearbox on the test car. As i was going up the gears, 1st to 2nd is fine but it doesnt seem to want to go up to 3rd. It kept revving up until redline without going up to third. i had to release the throttle and let the rpm go down then it would shift to third. Further to that i feel that the steering is too light , seems like driving a Vios. it is not an engaging drive for a Conti car.

The price for the Bravo is very attractive but due to the things stated above, i decided to go for the alfa 159

one thing i don't like about the Bravo is also the poor build quality and dash design...very orbiang...

it's also pretty expensive...the semi-auto 1.4T-Jet 120bhp going for $96,800 but afterless is $82,280 i think (15% off the car price)...

Bravo is a damn fun driving car, go for a test drive and you will know what i mean.

[thumbsup] :

Powerful ride

Conti feel

Spacious

Nice interior and exterior beautifully shaped

Can easily mod over 200 bhp

[thumbsdown] :

Suspension is quite soft

Weak brakes

I don't feel that light steering is a problem, it used to be a problem to me as i'm not used to it. Now, no problem handling it! [;)]
